What does Devon Alexander have to do..

.. TO WIN A BLOODY FIGHT!!

Many had him winning Victor Ortiz and I believe many including some media/websites had him the winner against Berto, even though he did tire. I had him a 114-113 winner.

Not seen it but Berto must be a relative of Haymons. I can understand if he got a robbery on cards.

Always getting the Haymon paydays. Him and Robert Guerrero have been well looked after by Al.

Yeh, Robert Guerrero sang his praises when he retired.

"In closing, I want to thank the most special man I've ever met in my boxing career, and possibly lifetime, a man who always does what's best for the fighter, a man who has changed the sport of boxing, a man who has helped bless me and my family with a great life, and that person is my advisor Al Haymon. Not only is Al Haymon a spectacular advisor, he is a wonderful human being as well, a great man, and someone who cares. In a sport where most managers, promoters, and trainers turn their back on a fighter, when they no longer can perform, or are no longer beneficial to their interest, Haymon stands tall. Love and loyalty is tough to find in the boxing game, but for any boxer looking for it, you don't have to look far, reach out to Al Haymon. I want to thank everyone, the fans included. I hope you guys appreciated the guts and glory I left in the ring. God bless you all." ~ Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero

I thought Alexander beat both Berto and Ortiz. Granted he faded a little in the second half, but did more than enough to win both fights. I thought he won 4/5 of the first 6 rounds against Berto. So you mean to tell me that two judges didn't give Alexander one round in the second half of the fight?

I had him ahead in both fights too.

But Alexander doesn't really have a crowd pleasing style or one that impresses the judges.

And those second half fades puts Alexander in a position where he really can't complain about the decision.

He turns what appears to be a solid win into a too close fight.

And when you let a fight get close, you lose the right to squawk about the decision.

To his credit, I didn't hear him grumble about the outcome. Instead Alexander agreed that he slowed in those later rounds.

But in the long run, the defeat probably won't hurt him much. Alexander appears to be a Haymon favorite and gets lucrative prime time television network fights.

Down the road, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in with the loser of Garcia-Porter.

And if he somehow wins, a title shot is around the corner.
