Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter on BxNtn in UK

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Good news for us boxing fans in the UK. We’ve missed out on Mikey Garcia and Sergey Kovalev recently..

Glad this has been picked up.

Looks like I'll be subscribing for another month...

Porter is one of my favourite fighters and I think he'll win this comfortably.

I like Porter for this too. Can't say either guy excites me though, the divisions all about Spence and Crawford now.

I think Porter will bully his way to a decision but I wouldn't write Garcia off. Broner had Porter in trouble late on in their fight despite being well behind so he can be hurt and Garcia will be dangerous to the end.

Brooklyn's Chris Colbert returns to the ring in his hometown to take on once-beaten Sulaiman Segawa in an eight-round featherweight match as he looks to continue his rise up the ladder in the talent-laden 126-pound division. The loaded card is presented by Premier Boxing Champions on Saturday, September 8 from Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING™.

Great match up and pushes the winner to the forefront with Crawford and Spence.

Garcia is a great counter puncher but may struggle with the combination punches of Porter.

Garcia ... points.

Could end up a horrible fight to watch like most of Porters fights. He's near impossible to look good against but I'm actually looking forward to seeing how it all goes down. Intriguing match up. Might even stay up if I have the energy.

Let's hope Khan finishes Vargas quick. Get a nice nap around 3-4 hours. Wake up and catch Garcia-Porter.

Starting to get a buzz for this fight now,its got potential this one.

Im picking Shawn Porter by decision, can see it being ugly and rough throughout.Cab Garcia deal with it?we will find out.

Porters change in style has really helped him in his role as a bit of a gatekeeper nowadays.

When I first saw Porter he was an in and out fast footed fighter with great reflexes. He seemed to change after the Alexander fight and it put me off him for a few years but it serves him well now and for the future.Even when he progresses to full journeyman status promoters know he will give their guy a proper test and they will learn from the fight.

Great 50/50 fight this but for some reason its not getting my juices flowing, maybe its coz theres a lot of talent at Welter and younger, fresher more exciting guys knocking about? Vacant title fights are never great especially when a champs been stripped

Garcia the better boxer, not a puncher at 147 but a tough fvcker, didn't mind standing his ground against Thurman, Porter is just relentless and one of the gamest mofos in the game, coming off a good win over Granados but it was the performance against Berto that shows you what he's all about, he just battered him from pillar to post and bullied him like a lil bitch

I'd be very surprised if this fight never went 12 rounds, it'll be close but I'm gonna go with Porter to outhustle Garcia, I doubt Danny will mind getting in the trenches especially late on but he'll be playing into Porter's hands

Garcia vs. Porter Winner Has To Make "Two" Mandatory Defenses

The head of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, said the winner of the upcoming fight between Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter will be obliged to make two mandatory defenses.

Porter and Garcia will collide on Saturday night, for the vacant WBC welterweight title, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Sulaiman is following the guidelines of the WBC's rules, which direct the winner of a vacant world title to make back to back mandatory defenses.

Thurman was pressed to make mandatory defenses against Porter and Garcia - who were then ordered to fight for the vacant belt.

If Thurman will be healthy enough, Sulaiman says the former champion can get a direct shot at Saturday's winner.

"Thurman has the option to fight for the title if he is registering and ready," said Sulaiman to ESPN Deportes. "And if he is not ready, then he will be one of the mandatory challengers. On the one hand we have Andre Berto or on the other hand the winner of the fight between Yordenis Ugas and Cesar Barrionuevo."

This is the last scheduled card to be shown by B0xNati0n in High Definition.

All future live broadcasts from September 25th will be in Standard Definition only.

In the age were other broadcasters are offering resolution/quality upgrades (UHD/4K), BoxNati0n are reverting to archaic SD.

Pretty sure their time is nigh, dropping HD, popular fighters now all BT exclusive, schedule bare - I hope BT Sport picks up the pieces with the live US/overseas shows.

He seems more calm now. He said he has respect for Kenny. Also he said he learnt a lesson from all build up against Thurman.

Remember he kept calling Thurman a n••ga.
