I’m just glad BN are still showing these international fights.
Should be a straight forward win for Crawford. Don’t think Benavidez should cause any trouble.
Crawford middle rounds TKO.

Interesting fight, I know there's a lot of people in the sport big on Benavidez, I remember Freddie Roach singing his praises years ago when Pacquiao was in his pomp, saying that Benavidez does things that he cant teach Manny, ive seen a fair bit of him and most of the time he's looked good against pish opposition, he struggled against Herrera though and was lucky on the cards I'm pretty sure, his CV isn't great either, his career hasn't been managed well and he's fought an insane amount of 6 rounders, he's stepped it up a bit recently but he's stepping up about 5 levels here, strange matchmaking in the lead up to this
Crawford looked the bollocks against Horn in his first fight at 147 as expected, I cant remember the last time he disappointed, probably before he became a world champ, he should win this with ease but I do think Benavidez tall, slick style brings something a bit different for Crawford, he might have a little success in the first couple of rounds while Crawford has a look at him, I expect Crawford to pull away though and with his handspeed and accuracy I see him forcing a stoppage late on

Here are eight facts about the Arizona man, who has won all 27 professional fights following a glittering amateur career:
1) He is the older brother by 4 1/2 years of WBC Super-Middleweight Champion, David Benavidez.
2) He was the youngest boxer ever to win the National Golden Gloves Championships, aged 16 in 2009.
3) He is now trained by his dad, Jose Sr, but when he turned professional was with Freddie Roach and sparred with Amir Khan.
4) When he turned professional he was also the youngest boxer, at 17, to be licensed as a professional by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Top Rank Promotions made an exception for the minimum age requirement of 18 years because of his exceptional talent.
5) In August 2016 he was shot while out walking his dog in Phoenix and suffered a serious leg injury. He was told he would never box again. It took him two years to walk, but he was back fighting earlier this year inside 18 months, and showed no effect in two winning fights. "I was losing so much blood I almost died," he recalled.
6) He has spent six months training in Las Vegas for his career-defining fight against Crawford, leaving behind his Arizona home comforts.
7) His sparring partners have included Jose Valenzuela. His dad, Jose Sr revealed: "He's the one I brought personally. He's a natural southpaw and he has that little boxing style. I would never compare him to Terence Crawford, but he can move kind of like that."
8) Benavidez started boxing aged six: "My parents put me in soccer, baseball, and I didn't really like any of those sports. My dad would always watch boxing, so I told him to take me to the gym one day and I just fell in love with the sport.”

Been thinking last day or two, Crawford is going to put on a show tonight. Might just stay up for it.

Considering he's in the reckoning for P4P #1, it would be nice to see ol Bud in with someone he's not a clear favorite to beat, for a change ..
When Ray Leonard was in the same spot, having just won a world title, he was straight in with 50/50 fights against Hearns and Duran.
He needs Spence and Garcia right away, enough with the easy fights already.

This may turnout much less “easy” than it appears. If Crawford is a true top tier P4P fighter, he will show it tonight.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑13 Oct 2018, 14:48 Considering he's in the reckoning for P4P #1, it would be nice to see ol Bud in with someone he's not a clear favorite to beat, for a change ..

Every pro has an off night eventually (even in victory). Will this be Bud’s?

Bud looks unbeatable at this level, he will skate it tonight
Re: Terence Crawford vs. Jose Benavidez - 13 October 2018 on BxNtn -
ya crawford is so good, that uppercut was sweet blah blah blah (all true btw)
excellent fighter, but his career is getting stale for me. lots of solid wins but no one really that good. postel, ingdongo, burns, beltran, lundy, horn. etc. hell hardly lose a round at this level as weve seen over and over and over.
lets see him in with a spence or thurman or even porter soon please. probably it will be a guy like carlos adames next though lol

Garcia or Porter next then Errol next summer.
Spence will fancy the job, Benavidez landed clean a few times but hasn't got much power, Spence tagging him like that will be interesting,

Re: Terence Crawford vs. Jose Benavidez - 13 October 2018 on BxNtn -
Fvcking top not finish from Crawford, that right uppercut to deck Benavidez was top drawer and the finishing was as well, nailed him with 2 big rights as the ref stepped in, Benavidez was done, never really seen it coming, there was no doubt Crawford was puling away in the second half but it was a chess match, I thought Benavidez started off well, I had it even after 4, there was a lot of tit for tat counter punching and both men looked sharp, Benavidez was able to make the most of Crawford's slow starting
Crawford's experience down the stretch told though, Benavidez slowed right down and ran out of ideas and Crawford just pecked away at him with the jab and worked the right hooks well, wasn't the most entertaining fight to watch but you cant argue with that finish, Crawford's the man
Few last round KOs last night

In round 7 i bet Crawford to win by decision. It seemed an absolute shoe-in. Can't fvckin believe that shīt, pinged him outta nowhere with 20 sec left.handsofstone wrote: ↑14 Oct 2018, 05:58 Fvcking top not finish from Crawford, that right uppercut to deck Benavidez was top drawer and the finishing was as well, nailed him with 2 big rights as the ref stepped in, Benavidez was done, never really seen it coming, there was no doubt Crawford was puling away in the second half but it was a chess match, I thought Benavidez started off well, I had it even after 4, there was a lot of tit for tat counter punching and both men looked sharp, Benavidez was able to make the most of Crawford's slow starting

Most would cruise to a comfy decision win, i had Benavidez only win 2 rounds.
Crawford wanted to close the show and he did just that. A record hometown crowd of just over 13k paid to see him.
Also this new ESPN deal is doing him good. He was paid over $3m.

The finish was brilliant. Nobody else in boxing at the moment can finish like that.
Some big fights ahead at welterweight. Some top operators at that weight. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top assuming the fights get made.

Yeh and it’s not like he’s old. He’s been around a while but he’s still very much in his prime IMO. He’s been peaking for a while.
Re: Terence Crawford vs. Jose Benavidez - 13 October 2018 on BxNtn -
Mikey Garcia runs him close on the finish.
Terence is boss tho, love watching his fights.

The finish with those right hands was apropos considering the weighin theatrics.
Bud is P4P #1 for me.
