Lemieux's power is monstrous. Easily, he's one of the hardest punchers today. He has to land it, though.
Re: video of lemieux k.o of of o" sullivan
saadoffthedeck was a good poster, but one of the stupidest things ive seen around here was him, in an attempt to argue that lem really isnt that much of a puncher, insisting that lem suddenly knocking curtis stevens out cold with a single left hook 2.5 rounds in was purely a matter of accumulation over the fight and not really a sign of big power
lems powers very good, his issue is in landing clean, and from loading up he loses steam on his shots later on. but you better have a good chin if hes hitting you clean and early

That KO over Stevens was insane. saad was an idiot.
Not even Golovkin could do that to Stevens and that was a close-to-peak Golovkin. Lemieux is the hardest puncher at MW today. No one comes close. The man knocks people out cold.
N'Dam was getting ragdolled in there against Lemieux. It was rather hilarious. He looked like he got hit with a bazooka in the 2nd, I think it was.

All about levels and styles - he couldn’t do that against Saunders
Re: video of lemieux k.o of of o" sullivan
Lemieux is probably one of the biggest punchers of the 2000s. Legitimate one punch KO power. He's one of the those fighters that only needs to land one big shot and its curtains.
That said he can be a bit of a one trick pony at times, but he's always worth watching.
I was not expecting him to ice Sullivan as fast as he did.
Lemieux is a serious fight for anyone.

Re: video of lemieux k.o of of o" sullivan
of course not, saunders wasnt there to be hit, and that makes the power pretty much irrelevant. its why lem will never be absolute top tier, the best guys can avoid his shots and pretty much take away his biggest strength, which is his powerTerminator666 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2018, 02:33 All about levels and styles - he couldn’t do that against Saunders

He's a huge puncher, but he needs someone whose there to be hit to be successful. O'Sullivan was the perfect foil for him to look good against.
But everyone saw the way that BJS utterly humiliated him just by using boxing and movement. And there was no excitement or suspense watching that fight because it was crystal clear Lemieux didn't know how to make his power a factor. It was rendered useless. It was about the biggest 'owning' of a fighter there has been in recent years. ...especially given that Lemieux was the favourite going in and everything was set up for him.
Thing with Lemieux......he has the punch power, but he lacks the ability to utilise it against top competition and that's why he comes up short. He can't set it up against the best. he lacks that ability.

ggg owned lem even more then bjs did. he outboxed him every bit as much, but also dropped him (lem had to take a knee from a body shot) , bloodied him up more, and stopped him.
thats the thing with lem, take away his power and hes liable to be clowned because he doesnt have a whole lot to fall back on. and the top guys can take his power away
but vs 2nd tier guys he can hit...hes a problem
Re: video of lemieux k.o of of o" sullivan
Lemieux has a short reach, but his power is real, he can knock out anyone who "stands" in front of him. O'Sullivan said he was going to run like Saunders to teach Lemieux a lesson... obviously he stood in front of Lemieux juste a little too long.
Re: video of lemieux k.o of of o" sullivan
hardest punch is the one who do you not expect. Osullivan did not expect that. Cannot believe this man was considered as oponent for GGG and Canelo. lemieux has some savage power
