Any guaranteed March fight dates in Vegas?
Any guaranteed March fight dates in Vegas?
Gents, heading to Vegas in March for my stag and would love to tie it into a big fight if possible. I know dates like Cinco de Mayo and mid-September tend to be locked in as fixtures, but can't see any similar trend for march. Anyone else have any idea on this one? Just conscious that I need to lock in things like flights and hotel so potentially can't leave it until a fight is actually announced...

Re: Any guaranteed March fight dates in Vegas?
I'm not aware of any fixed PPV dates for March in Vegas.
It may be worth posting the question on the Current Scene board for some US input.

Thanks for taking the time to reply mate. I suspected that would be the case but thought I'd ask on the off-chance.
I thought about CS, but I just can't face it..

Might get the odd fights at Mandalay Bay or the Hard Rock.. Maybe not the biggest fights..
Time will tell.

Yep, I'd actually prefer more of a trade fight in all honesty, but realize they're even less likely to be arranged months in advance. Last time I was there we went to Canelo vs Khan and while it was a superb arena (new T-Mobile), I was surprised at how sterile it was until the main event itself. Not a patch on the O2 in terms of atmosphere to be honest.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Sep 2018, 08:56Might get the odd fights at Mandalay Bay or the Hard Rock.. Maybe not the biggest fights..

Yeh, those big fights literally attract the audience. It was like this past weekend. During the undercard, it was dead!Deserter wrote: ↑18 Sep 2018, 09:53Yep, I'd actually prefer more of a trade fight in all honesty, but realize they're even less likely to be arranged months in advance. UK is more compact. Much better atmosphere here. Although can get a little annoying at times.

I went to Vegas a few weeks ago for my stag do. Randomly there was some boxing on the Friday night as Sam’s Town casino which is a few miles off the strip. It was a Mayweather promotions PBC show. It was random night. We all went out dressed as pro wrestlers (I was Bret Hart) and ended up meeting Mike Tyson there as well as Leonard Ellerbe.Deserter wrote: ↑17 Sep 2018, 02:21 Gents, heading to Vegas in March for my stag and would love to tie it into a big fight if possible. Hopefully there’ll be some boxing on whilst you’re there. We just got lucky.
It sounds like you know Vegas but if you’re looking for some ideas on things to do then feel free to PM me.

Did they play Sweet Caroline? If not, that’s where they went wrong.Deserter wrote: ↑18 Sep 2018, 09:53Yep, I'd actually prefer more of a trade fight in all honesty, but realize they're even less likely to be arranged months in advance. We did dune buggy racing when out on a stag last October. It was brilliant. You get picked up and it’s by the racetrack a bit out of town.
Went there for a stag in 2016 and whilst we were there E Lara fought at the Cosmo. Regret not going.
Have a good stag.

Thats vegas all over. I was at the MGM grand twice for world title fights, dead before main event, and nowhere near the atmosphere you get in a big fight in the UK.Deserter wrote: ↑18 Sep 2018, 09:53Yep, I'd actually prefer more of a trade fight in all honesty, but realize they're even less likely to be arranged months in advance. Re: Any guaranteed March fight dates in Vegas?
Thanks so much for all the feedback guys, massively appreciated. Will be my sixth time in Vegas, so know my way around a bit, but have only been off the strip a couple of times, so may be cheeky and ask for a few non-boxing tips nearer the time
Re: Any guaranteed March fight dates in Vegas?
There are a lot of Vegas veterans on the board so feel free to ask.

We went out in March on a fixed weekend and it was about January when a card at MGM was announced which we went to - we had Thurman/Guerro and Broner/Molina JR plus Abner Mares Easter Jr and Breazeale on the undercard. But there was also a small Friday night show on too.
Reckon it's a 1 in 2/3 chance you'll get a card there.

See that's exactly the kind of thing I'd love!garethhop wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 08:44 We went out in March on a fixed weekend and it was about January when a card at MGM was announced which we went to - we had Thurman/Guerro and Broner/Molina JR plus Abner Mares Easter Jr and Breazeale on the undercard.
