Who's the No 1 most avoided ?
Among the big dogs Spence has been putting himself about looking for a fight.
He straight up called out Terence Crawford by saying who has he fought.
Spence directly took a shot at Crawford's record.
That's calling somebody out.

Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
Billy Joe Saunders and Guillermo Rigondeaux are two fighters that have been avoided quite a lot over the years, mainly because their fighting styles are an acquired taste, where the TV networks showed little interest in covering their bouts, resulting in their big name rivals being able to face easier opposition for better paydays.
I believe that any fighter that guarantees big paydays for their opponents will be called out by their rivals.
However, any boxer that is risky, but brings very little money to the negotiating table, will inevitably be avoided like the plague, because pugilists are known as "PRIZE" fighters not "PRIDE" fighters.
That being said, I'm not sure who the most avoided fighter is today.

Get off the fence and make a call of the top of your head.
Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
Spence as far as I’m concerned.

Zolani Tete seems to be in the famous 'who needs em' club. High risk low reward. Glad he's in the WBSS.

Artur Beterbiev? Breakout win in 2014 (Cloud), not been able to secure a big fight since. Only 12 fights at all since his career started in 2013. In a division with the likes of Kovalev, Stevenson, Ward, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Barrera, Fonfara, Smith Jr, Dawson, Jack, Cleverly, Hopkins during that time (not counting Alvarez or Pascal who all have the same team and are being kept from each other I believe), could only get a fight with Campillo and even that was ages ago.

I blame poor management for Beterbiev's poor resume. Fighting bums would be better than sitting on the sidelines for his prime.HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 08:45 Artur Beterbiev? Very poor management
Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
No, he didn't call Crawford out. He use those points to diminish Crawford to why he shouldn't have to fight a Bob Arum guy with a questionable record. He basically took a shot at a guy he had no intention of fighting because everyone keeps talking about Crawford. A petty move IMO.
Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
The answer is TBD. No one is being avoided because there’s no one that can’t make a fight with someone that they really want right now. Boxers have more freedom to make any fights they want but still they are not happening. Fighters are getting back to playing it safe and it’s not good for the sport
Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
Nobody at the moment is being avoided from what I can tell.
Now there are guys who are the most "avoiding" boxers. As in they're avoiding challenging fights as often as possible. Thurman of late has been avoiding fighting altogether, and seems in no hurry to fight a tough opponent again anytime soon.

I'd suggest someone like Rey Loreto, a proper member of the Who Needs 'im club. Waseem might head the same way at 112

Re: Is ....... the most avoided boxer in the world today ?
Beterbiev's inactivity can be explained primarily due to a combination of being injured for several prolonged periods throughout the course of his career, coupled with him also having issues, though seemingly unjustified, with his promoter (GYM).HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 08:45 Artur Beterbiev? A lot of Artur's predicament seems to be self-inflicted.

For big unification fights;
Spence
Crawford
Money talks though, if Joshua or Canelo didn't bring huge money to the table, I think people would avoid them too.

GGG until he aged. Also, Luis Ortiz in the same vein.
I think Pirog would’ve been another.

How many times did K2 or Universum sumbit offers to GGG's big name rivals.
No one from this forum has ever been able to answer this one rather simple question.
The commonly-held opinion of the mainstream masses appears to suggest that GGG has been ducked, but there is almost no evidence of anyone from his team offering fights to his big name rivals.
Hopefully you'll be able to prove me wrong, so I'm looking forward to reading through the evidence of your claim?

In the past it could not be argued.
But voluntarily facing Ortiz in his last bout and now signed to face Fury. I think that debate is over with

Name several cases where Tom Loeffler's financial offers to face GGG were rejected unreasonably?Mexi-Box wrote: ↑26 Sep 2018, 20:25Educate yourself. Plenty of examples. • Andy Lee
• Anthony Mundine
• Arthur Abraham
• Daniel Geale (prime, not the shot version)
• Darren Barker
• Dmitry Pirog
• Felix Sturm
• Jermain Taylor
• Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
• Kelly Pavlik
• Paul Williams
• Peter Quillin
• Sam Soliman
• Sergio Martinez
So we're talking about financial offers submitted by K2 to the likes of the above named fighters?
Remember, I'm asking a rather simple question, but for some strange reason, nobody has been able to answer it?
Plenty of red herring type responses have been supplied but not one single direct answer has even been submitted to this forum.

He stood right in front of the mic and dissed Crawford to the media and that's not calling him out.
It's calling him out where I come from.

Rigo, Lara, Luis Ortiz, and GGG are some names worth to mention on the "Avoided" list. Other fighters just doesn't bring enough in the table such as BJS, The Charlos (not sure), Kell Brook (before), advantil khurtsidze, etc.
