WBSS season 2 UK TV?

Post by freddy73 »

Any news on what channel has ior will pick this up?

I was presuming as DAZN has it in the States, Sky would be airing it over here but haven't heard anything.

DAZN aren't exclusive to Eddie..

They can pick up other boxing too I take it.

Matchroom have got a deal where everything they show will be broadcast on Sky and DAZN..

DAZN are just trying to expand further..

Thing is SKY will only show Matchroom promoted cards. The WBSS cards are not promoted by Matchroom, so Sky won't show them.

I reckon ITV will carry on.

We SHOULD NOT be paying for any quarter final fights IMO.

If desperation sinks in the Bantamweight bout will have Japanese streams available, but Fuji won't be showing the 140lb bout, at least not live

Genuinely didn't think we should have been paying for Groves vs Eubank either. Anyway a stream will have to suffice, been asked on Twitter a couple of times to no answer, do doesn't look like ITV are picking it up. Shame.

They were asked on Twitter 4 times this morning re TV coverage in UK - with no reply.

I’d presume it’ll go to the wire for bidding.

Sky unlikely to want it.
BT unlikely to want it.
allegedly - lack of content now.
ITV - Depends on Series 1.
Channel 5 - Budget/Cost Issue.

Not many places can cover it really.

I would imagine that it will clash with some sky/bt shows, also you say allegedly has a lack of content now, they had 5 live shows in the last 5 days, plus another this Friday and Crawford and Lomachenkos next fights, so there not doing half as bad as people are making out.

I think it's outrageous that ITV can charge for anything, personally.

But that's the sport now, isn't it? Greedy.

Whilst I totally agree with you I think it's more outrageous that we are forced to pay for the BBC .

Surely BN should pick this up with the massive hole left by allegedly moving all his fighters to BT.

ITV have done a particularly good job of making the entire first series incredibly difficult to find and then expensive watch,.

I remember searching everywhere the first evening of Usyk-Huck, only to discover that they wernt actually showing it.

Some were ITV4, some were free on ITV box office, some pay per view on ITV box office. Some just were never shown at all to my knowledge.

Don't you worry about the telly.
Get your arse to the Hydro :shame:
Two reasonable main event fights and Smith on the undercard. It would be unpatriotic of you not to attend.

Hopefully, the first round of fights will be streamed live on the WBSS website, as they did before?

Kalle confirmed in an ifilm interview earlier a TV deal is close. 3 broadcasters interested. If a deal is not concluded by Sunday a stream will be available for all to watch. A deal should be in place by this time next week.

I cant see Inoue having to many problems with Payano here, he might prove elusive in the early goings but Inoue will walk through him I imagine, if the naturally small Inoue can walk through the naturally big McDonnell then Payano shouldn't prove too much, Payano's decent but I thought he lost both Warren fights but they were both snoozers, he looks very amateurish for an Olympian, Inoue I imagine will stop him in the middle rounds

Relikh vs Troyanovsky could turn out to be a decent scrap, think Troyanovsky's 1st round blowout to Indongo might've been a bit of a freak? He's picked up a couple of wins since that loss, including a win over former world title challenger Di Rocco, he also beat an unbeaten guy in his last fight

Thought Relikh thoroughly deserved the win in his rematch with Barthelemy, I had him winning all but 1 round, glad to see him become world champ after getting shafted against Burns

I think Relikh wins this one as well, I think it goes the distance though, I'm surprised he has so many KOs on his slate, whenever I watch him fight he doesn't look much of a puncher, just a busy guy who never stops throwing

IF Inoue stops Payano he sets two Japanese records. The most stoppage wins in world title fights by a Japanese fighter (tied with Uchiyama at 10) and most successive stoppage in world title fights (tied with Gushiken at 6)
