Hottest divisions right now.

Post by LeeSanders »

The purpose of this thread is to know, according to your points of view. What are, today, the divisions with better names bidding to reign in them. and the possibility that these names actually clash with each other.
As a starter, i propose the following:
HW: Joshua, Wilder, Fury, plus Povetkin, Ortiz, Whyte, Miller, and maybe Parker (withone of those matchs happening nearly, and some big fights through last months)
Welter: everyone is hoping for Spence-Crawford, but also in 147 are names like Porter, García, hopefully Thurman, the last shots from Manny, and one of my favorites for the near future, Josh Kelly.
Featherweight: In my opinion, the best match-ups possible within a weight today. Santa Cruz, Framtpon, Valdez, Russell, JoJo Diaz, plus some brit names like Warrington, Selby or Quigg, all of them give good fights imo.
Bantamweight: It's a shame Nery wont participate on WBSS. Because Inoue and Burnett are really top leve boxers and young too. (Inoue, very underrated i think) in addition to them, Zolani Tete is in the tournament too.

I'd love to read opinions from all of you.
Thanks, and greetings from Argentina.

Cruiserweight is really hot today. Usyk will probably make a farewell to the division with next fight, but after he moves up, there will be some competition for the vacated belts, I believe.

Middleweight is also good. During the majority of GGG's reign it was lacking talents, but now some good actual and potential fights are on the radar.

Light Heavyweight have good actual and potential fights too. For the moment it's pretty hard to predict, who is going to come on top: Bivol, Gvozdyk, Alvarez or maybe even Kovalev again.

Cruiser is easily the best.

Usyk
Gassiev
Briedis
Dorticos
Glowacki
Lebedev
Hunter
Vlasov
Tabiti
Lerena
Masternak
Perez
Okolie

The weight class is just loaded with talent.

And also many of the good fights actually happen :box:

For me, every division is like that, nice and fun that someone is the best at some weightclass, but it's simply not the best. Perhaps I'm the best with shoesize 42 and blue eyes, doesn't mean that I'm the best. For me it's like the paralympics, yes, you're the best, if you ignore him and him and him and him.
I've always loved the HW much more, than the other divisions. I guess, it's this way with the majority of the fans, but this truly has a reason, heavyweight is the most dangerous division, the most scary and hard-hitting dudes are out there. It has always been good. Some tend to run at the 2000's and yes, overall it was a one of the weakest eras with some of the worst champions, like Valuev and Ruiz, but still there were something to watch and today I even sometimes feel like I miss Wlad's predictable dominance over next guy in a row. Heavyweights always ruled.

CW and LHW are great but MW imo the best. The top 10 of this division is so loaded with great fighters: Golovkin, Alvarez, Jacobs, Saunders, Charlo, Murata, Sulecki, Derevyanchenko, Andrade, Lemieux.

Heavyweight is my favourite division.
I do enjoy watching some fights in other weight classes - depends who is fighting.
The middlewieight division is good and the cruiserweights are hot right now.
I don't tend to watch the lighter weights much.

160 lbs: Golovkin, Alvarez, Jacobs, Derevyanchenko, Saunders, Andrade, Charlo. Maybe Hurd will move up, Sulecki is still decent.
147 lbs: Spence, Thurman, Porter, Crawford, Brook, Khan, D. Garcia, Pacquiao is still here and dont underestimate Yorgenis Ugas.
135 lbs: Lomachenko is considered as the best, but i think there are few guys who can give him very hard fights : M. Garcia, Davis, Berchelt.

Super Flyweight is slowly building up it's fighters. Sor Rungvisai is the top dog but some dudes can take it any given night since I can see him as a beatable champ. Plus Inoue can always go down to that weight too. :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag:
