Whyte v Ortiz

I’m hearing this is happening in December is there any merit to this? I’m hoping so as it’s a better fight than going over old ground with Chisora

I don't think edward has the balls to put it on

Well that’s what I thought too. Would be a good pre Christmas fight if it does become true.

Why ?
Whyte would be favourite to win.

Think this would be a great fight. I'd rather see this than the Chisora rematch.
However, I think the likelihood of the Chisora rematch is a higher possibility than the Ortiz fight.

I know, id back Whyte, just don't reckon Hearn will make this fight , he has other ideas for Whyte I reckon , like chisora rematch

ok, well I'll disagree with something else then...
I know it's fun to bash 'Fast Eddie' but is Whyte vs Del Boy really a worse fight than Oritz ?
I'd
probablyprefer to see Whyte vs Ortiz, but Whyte vs Del 1 was one of the best UK fights of the last few years
Awesome battle, no clear winner. (I had DB 115-113) and we ALL want to see the pre-fight trash talk.
Those two just can't help themselves !

I wouldlnt mind either fight pal but, like you, I'd prefer Whyte-Ortiz

Eddie should make Whyte vs Ortiz, but hire DelBoy to do the Cuban's trash-talking

I don't think many people are arguing that Whyte v Chisora 2 would be entertaining, but making it a standalone PPV fight is an utter nonsense IMO. Whyte v Ortiz is a little more interesting IMO but still not a standalone PPV fight.

They aren't standalone Ppv fights na but you can bet they will be it's just boxing these days

Definitely not a PPV fight. If I was Hearn, I’d consider putting it (or a similar fight) on regular Sky and then promoting the fvck out of it on SSN, just to damage the BT PPV.

Smart move hitting the competition where it hurts.

The problem with Whyte vs Chisora is that both men are expecting a 7 figure payday from it, which sky wont cough up without PPV.
Ortiz is a tougher fight for Whyte, but will probably want less money. It will still end up on PPV, but on the plus side, Ortiz's smaller purse should leave more funds for a better undercard (in theory).

Wether it's ppv or free view, it's obviously what he's doing anyway having it on the same night.

Well yeah, but he runs the risk of that backfiring if he puts on a PPV that’s significantly weaker than the BT one - and Whyte-Ortiz is definitely weaker imo. So I think he’d be better off putting on a strong card on regular Sky and attracting viewers that way.

Whyte wins this and he is undoubtedly number 3 in the division behind Joshua and the Fury/Wilder winner.

whytes as game as they come and will fight anyone but He's just not world level, Ortiz that fought Wilder takes him apart

If Ortiz is prepare properly then he beats Whyte but if there's any weaknesses at all then Whyte will grind him down and exploit any chinks!
Is it 22nd Dec? Most hardcore fans would choose the BT PPV that night.....

Why has December become the money month? Why can’t some just wait til Jan then fight 3 times next year?

Why can't you accept some guys want to pig out at Christmas and perhaps have to spend time with their families- thus don't have a hope of making weight until February at least

yeah - very sneaky !

Loads of people would watch Whyte v Chisora for free over Wilder vs Fury PPV.
Plus..., why does every big(ish) fight suddenly have to be PPV ?
There's still a fair bit of money in selling out the O2 (sure it would) and selling the fight overseas etc - enough for everyone to get paid, Shirley ?

I'm sick of what they pass off as PPV fights.
Back in the day we saw better fights on USA Tuesday night fights.
It's a shame because they limit their growth as a sport
