How could many of Brazier's fights ever have been sanctioned considering the inexperience of his opponents?

Seems to be a classic war horse who could beat everybody except a top tier fighter. 124 fights and only stopped twice is pretty impressive. I am not sure what you mean by the term 'sanctioned"? There are many 10 and 12 round fights on his resume and he even won a few of the lesser titles. But you are correct you can't find a win against a top rung fighter.

All bouts have to be sanctioned or approved by the commission. Brazier fought guys with no experience or very little experience at a time when he was a main event fighter. I suspect that more than likely the fights in question took place in states that had no commission.

OK I see what you mean now, I know Wisconsin has no commission (because of the mess that occurred with Jerry Quarry some years back) but are there that many States left with no Unarmed Combatant Commissions left.

I disagree that Brazier was missing any name opponents in the win column. His wins over Mickey Ward, Robin Blake, Brian Baronet, 'White Lightning' Brown, Joey Ruiz, John Meekins, Anthony Stephens and Kevin Pompey were all top notch.

Good fighter Brazier. He didn't start boxing until he was 24, had a fairly unspectacular amateur career and turned pro at 26 so a late comer to the sport. He also trained himself and continued to work whilst not fighting. Considering all this he had a very decent career and joins a small list of fighters with more than 100 wins.
