Klitchko in talks for rematch with AJ. WTF???

He thinks he can beat everyone in the division. Why do retired old guys always think they have one more fight? He's taking advantage of the April 13 'reservation' at Wembley. AJ needs an opponent, and I guess he jumped on the opportunity.oogiebe wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 14:29 I cannot believe it!

I wish it were, but it's serious. He's out of his mind, IMHO.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 14:45 If this takes place in April. Wlad will be 43 years old and will not have won a fight in 4 years.
This is a joke right? No way can he expect to win
I mean he could beat SOME guys, but it ain't gonna be none of the top dogs at this point. I wouldn't be shocked to see him be able to beat a Dereck Chisora or somebody like that, but considering his achievements what would be the point of that?
He's aiming for AJ in April. He has only one fighter in mind. No tune-up fights, it appears.
I have no idea who he could beat at this point.
He has more total fights than the average competitor of the modern era too so he has more miles on his body so to speak.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:09I have no idea who he could beat at this point.
At his age and being away from active competition for what will be 2 years. It's a gamble to get on him against any top 10 contender.
I know people are going to say he can still beat the Chisora or Takams of the division.
But we really dont know.
43 is very old for a fighter
Good point. His body may be even older than a 43 year old fighters. He's taken some beatings over the yearsgilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:12He has more total fights than the average competitor of the modern era too so he has more miles on his body so to speak.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:09I have no idea who he could beat at this point.

Isn't money what Hearn and AJ seem to be focused on all the time?tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:13 And another thing. What does this fight do to Joshua's legacy? Will people point out that this is the definition of cherry picking.
AJ gains nothing but money off of this.
I'd rather he fight Whyte, Pulev or Miller at this point. And none of those excite me either
Yep! And I understand it is PRIZE fighting and not PRIDE fightingoogiebe wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:21Isn't money what Hearn and AJ seem to be focused on all the time?tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:13 And another thing. I used to be all about "Legacy" and"Legacy defining fights", and would judge guys harshly for not pursuing this sorta thing more adamantly, but I've read plenty of books about retired boxers who's legacies are just fine, but they're broke as sh*t, and all but forgotten by the average man in spite of it.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:13 And another thing. But I'd be embarrassed taking on an old inactive shell of a fighter.

Really at the end of it all, the money you made, and the money you still got is the most important thing.
Well yeah. All the money in the world don't mean sh*t if you can't count it.oogiebe wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:27The most important thing after HEALTH!gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:26I used to be all about "Legacy" and"Legacy defining fights", and would judge guys harshly for not pursuing this sorta thing more adamantly, but I've read plenty of books about retired boxers who's legacies are just fine, but they're broke as sh*t, and all but forgotten by the average man in spite of it.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 15:13 And another thing.
