He was previously looking to go into pro wrestling and the bodybuilding was toward that goal. However since he's decided to go pro in boxing he's cut a lot of muscle. Should be interesting to see how he progresses. Now is a good time to debut if your surname is Fury.

Is that why he’s turning professional as a boxer?

I know he's a light heavy...some vids on youtube but only training. I had posted one in another thread on him.

Rubbish, it’s a smash and grab.
If he wanted to be his own man he would have chosen a different ring name when he applied for his license.

Or just box under his own name.... instead of changing your name round like a lemon

Just cos you share a name with someone doesn't mean you need to use them to benefit you, can't help who his brother is can he

Doesn’t mean he NEEDS to, no, but he has and is well aware of that.
I don’t think exploiting the opportunity is wrong, but the idea that he is doing anything else is foolish.

If it helps him good luck to him :TU: only trying to make some dough in a hard game

He's tysins brother and that obviously going to get him recognised but he so far hasn't gone out of his way to bring it up and he won't

Considering neither Tyson or Hughie are body beautifuls (and they have been caught) then Tommy must have been on these burgers for breakfast, dinner and tea.

As I understand it, he's Tyson's half brother. His genetic make-up is obviously going to be significantly different.

Looks quite slow to me, bulk may be weighing him down.

His opponent tonight looks dire.

I don't expect his career to be particularly exciting under the stewardship of FW. He's going to be undercard filler for a long time.

Ah I didn’t realise - there is still no way that you could convince me that a 19 year old had a physique like that (like he did 6 months ago) because of good genes.

Genetically, on average half-siblings are 1/8 related to each other (compared with 1/2 for a full sibling / parent / child) - i.e. the same as a first cousin. So it's quite possible Tommy Fury has a whole different set of genes for his physical makeup to Tyson. He still looks a little suspect for his age, though the bodybuilding background may explain that.

I don’t have any problem with him exploiting the situation he is in but stating that he wants to ‘walk his own path’ implies that he is determined to build a career based on merit.
Already that isn’t the case.
It’s sort of strange that being related to a boxer who the general public won’t pay to see makes any inroads with a promoter anyway isn’t it.

Tyson’s last three fights have been 15,000 and two 20,000? The last an event shown worldwide. And his popularity has risen x10 since then.
