Kell Brook offered Jeff Horn Fight

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Kell Brook has been offered a fight against Jeff Horn, with Amir Khan set to confirm this week he will be challenging Terence Crawford instead of his British rival.

Brook has been frustrated again in his attempts to finally secure a fight with Khan, who is expected to announce a clash against WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford in the coming days.

But Horn, a former WBO title holder himself, is willing to travel to Britain for a super-welterweight showdown with Brook in May, according to the Australian's promoter Dean Lonergan.

Lonergan told Sky Sports: "I've got a text into Eddie at the moment, my matchmaker has an email and a phone call into Eddie, we love this fight, to have Jeff Horn fight Kell Brook.

"If you were going to do it, you would definitely go to England, because the boxing market up there is on fire, and Kell Brook in Sheffield, which is where he comes from, you're definitely going to be filling a stadium wherever you go."

"We think Zerafa is a fighter that Jeff Horn would totally dominate and destroy within five or six rounds, and Kell Brook couldn't put him away," said Lonergan.

"I saw a comment coming from Brook himself, saying a lot of people after seeing my performance against Michael Zerafa will come out of the woodwork.

"Well, we would have been there anyway, but we just look at that and go - it will be a good fight for Jeff."

I think it's a decent fight but doesn't really do a lot for Brook. Horn's guy is optimistic if he thinks it's a stadium fight though.

Didn’t you know every fight has to be a stadium fight now days lmao!

I think Horn is too aggressive for Brook. And he’s actually bigger than Brook. 154 would be the ideal weight for this.

Good fight for Brook. Horn will come forward and walk into shots. Brook will be strong as the fight at 154lb no messing with his weight and hopefully won't be training himself this time.

Not a bad fight really. People are questioning how much Brook has left, and Horn was never especially good in the first place but he does have a "win" over Pacquiao so it might be a competitive scrap.

Because of AJ's success the rest of the boxing world suddenly thinks the UK is now a soft touch for stadium fights and ppv.

That'd be his biggest win if he actually pulled it off. Even if he decisions Brook it'd be his biggest win. So long as the decision is legit. In the U.K. I figure it'd have to be.

If it is to fill a stadium it would have to be in Brisbane.
Brook could maybe fill a stadium for Khan or PacMan or whatever, but against HORN ?!
Surely Kell is a bigger coup for the Aussies to watch in a stadium than Horn in the UK.

Even though Horn is nothing special, I think he's better than the last guy Brook fought, and Brook struggled and looked hurt at times in the fight.

Beating a faded never-was in Brook would be bigger than beating a faded ATG, former p4p #1 or #2, 8 weight champion in Manny ? Ok.

If he actually beats Brook it would be. He didn't actually beat Pac. He was given a decision because the fight was in his home country. He lost that fight anywhere else in the world.

With the Khan fight not happening this is probably about as good as you can expect for Brook. Is Brook staying at 154? As far as world titles go Harrison looks beatable for the WBC but Munguia is probably too big and fresh and Hurd is all wrong for him.

Good fight though, I think Horn is overrated (and riding high on a dubious win) but it is a good testing ground for Kell Brook mark 2019. If he beats Horn well then I feel he has had the right to get a world title fight next, but that's not saying Brook will win a world title fight as I don't think Horn will ever be a world champion again.

Not a bad fight but can't see it happening. I don't think it fills out a stadium, possibly Sheffield Arena.

I can't see Hearn making it PPV - but I would feel both fighters believe it is, so the money both will want wouldn't be there I don't think.

I can't see what fighting Horn would do for Brook either. Kell is coming to the end of his career and need big risk for big reward (either a high pay day or a chance of securing a world title.)

Is he? Ha. Hurd should call him out. Say he'll come to Sheffield. Give Brook no excuse. Brook would win the early rounds but it's going to take a huge effort for anyone to deal with Hurd's pressure for 12 rounds and Brook doesn't have it in him at this stage of his career IMO.

Horn and then Liam Smith wouldn't be the worst year for Brook to be fair. 2 good fights on paper. Should be action packed. Both winnable. No shame in not being #1 in the division. Just don't give us the "best in the world, everyone is ducking me" shite.

Horn is better than Zefara. Not much better, but better all the same. From what I saw during the Brook Zefara fight, it only takes a bit better than Zefara to beat this version of Brook.
Yes Horn is basic, Brook is far superior in so many ways.
But Horn beats him in stamina and toughness, and I think that might be enough to get a win over the 2019 Kel Brook.

Ok but you said ‘win’, which he did, not ‘beat’ which he didn’t (according to you)
