JC - Press Conference - Sick to my stomach

Post by Slapsie Maxie »

Not one of those Crucible types who shouts "Witch" at every sniff of racism, but the JC press conference made me very uncomfortable indeed.

Forcing S to dress in some Pharoh's costume was tawdry, shabby and cheap.

You could argue that he had a choice. I suspect he did not.

Mind you, with that conference and the fact that JC is fighting someone who has to fast during the day because of Rammadan, this fight is definingly tawrdy, shabby and cheap.

JC should go and fight in Australia. At least then his career would go down the plug hole the opposite way which would add variety

When you think now long he's been around and what a good fighter he is, it's sad when you hear him say:

"I have got to come through fights like this to get the big ones against fighters like Johnson and Jeff Lacy."

The big ones like Johnson – a world-class fighter, true, but no legend.
Lacy – a guy who was boxing Jason Collins on Joe's undercard last year. A guy who's not even had 20 fights.

Irrelevant of who's fault it is, it just shows how slow his career has moved. Fifteen defences and he's not really had a sniff at winning one of the other titles. A real shame because I believe Joe's an excellent fighter who has had the beating any of the supermiddleweights and lightheavies around at the moment (apart from Roy Jones a couple years ago).
