HW Champs: Promotional Affiliations
HW Champs: Promotional Affiliations
I usually don't pay attention to what fighters are signed under what promotional company, but since Fury threw a bit of a wrench in the works with his signing with Top Rank/ESPN, things got a little "soupy" in the division.
So based on who they are represented by, here are their easy fights to make with a stablemate. One can see Fury is the only one of the three top dogs with no viable challenger in his stable.
Fury (Arum/ESPN)
Bryant Jennings
Joshua (DAZN):
Chisora
Miller
Usyk
Whyte
Rivas (Added from OTO)
Pulev (Added from OTO)
Wilder (PBC):
Breazeale
Ortiz
Kownacki
So Fury appears to be the one with no choice but to deal with either DAZN or PBC in the near term, unless he wants a throw away fight. I'm still hoping Wilder/Fury is the next bout, especially as the WBC set a new deadline for purse bids, and have indicated that a final decision for their fight will be made by early next week. (reported 2/23 by World Boxing News).

Was just gonna say.. shame Ruiz moved on over to PBC. Hasn’t even fought yet.

The only shame for me would be if I ever was forced to watch Ruiz fight. I'd watch him take on Miller in a hot dog eating contest before I'd watch them box.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 15:00Was just gonna say.. shame Ruiz moved on over to PBC. Hasn’t even fought yet.

Could you possibly add a few of the newer HW prospects so we can get a picture of the long-range options for Fury-AJ-Wilder?
Guys like Hrgovic, Joyce, Dubois, Hunter, etc. I'm pretty sure Joyce is with Warren like Fury is, but not sure about the others.

So I guess that means PBC would prevent him from facing Fury even though both guys are promoted by Warren/Queensberry?tiny_acres wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:01Joe Joyce is with pbcBest Coast wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 17:47Nice list amigo!! Yup. I don't think Joyce will get there to be honest. He can beat Charr, but anyone in top 15 can beat him, and some of the prospects have a good chance of beating him in the coming year, IMHO.Best Coast wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:55I know it & you know it, but do you really think that would keep Joyce from challenging Fury if he gets a belt?

Not yet, but they can surpass him in another year, except Dychko who isn't busy enough and too stiff at 29 y/o(?)Best Coast wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 19:14Hrgovic would handle him but do you think Dubois, Ajagba, Dychko, etc are better than Joyce at this point too?oogiebe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 19:02Yup. Wilder is his cash cow. He won't risk it until money is right. I also feel the same way about Arum I don't think he'd risk Fury against Wilder until the money is too big to turn down.
But what do I know I miss half the time with my predictions
Re: HW Champs: Promotional Affiliations
I don't know if I agree with everything you posted. Wilder just fought Ortiz and Fury back to back. Both risky fights.tiny_acres wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 20:00I'm not sure. Cant figure out what Dychko's problem is. He hasnt fought since early July and has NOTHING scheduled. All his pro fights have been in Florida and I dint even know if he is still in the US. Maybe he's taking a breather back in Kazakhstan.oogiebe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 19:16Not yet, but they can surpass him in another year, except Dychko who isn't busy enough and too stiff at 29 y/o(?)Best Coast wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 19:14Hrgovic would handle him but do you think Dubois, Ajagba, Dychko, etc are better than Joyce at this point too?oogiebe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 19:02Yup. Re: HW Champs: Promotional Affiliations
Pulev is Top Rank. Oscar Rivas in PBC. Whyte is a free agent. Fury doesn't have to deal with DAZN or the PBC, since Wilder isn't tied to Showtime or Fox. AJ will face Fury on whatever network submits the highest purse bid. There's lots of other things you've missed.oogiebe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 14:42 I usually don't pay attention to what fighters are signed under what promotional company, but since Fury threw a bit of a wrench in the works with his signing with Top Rank/ESPN, things got a little "soupy" in the division.
