It only got restarted for this series last year, hadn't been going since 2009 before that. Used to enjoy it back in the day, should be decent.

Enjoying this season, well produced show & Andre Ward is a good host

Does anyone know where I could download the full seasons 1-4 of The Contender from back in the day? Been a long, long time since I've watched them, would really enjoy seeing them again.

Watched episode 1 last night, was surprised when they doing a profile of Thompson they didn't mention him being a former world title challenger

Anybody watched this through to the conclusion? The final was on ITV4 this Monday just gone, I won't put any spoilers but thought it was a good series. Wouldn't have picked the winner!

Yeh I watched it I thought all fights were good right up until the final, deserved winner, I'm glad they showed all fights in their entirety this time around, I despised the last format with constant slow mo action replays, my mates loved all that Rocky crap, it done my nut right in

Definitely the deserved winner. Miles better with full fights too, could accurately judge each round without the stop-start antics.

Absolutely mate although every episode was pretty repetitive up until the fight, Walker talking about beng in jail, Mosley Jr crying about stepping out of his dads shadows, Moore being an absolute cockwomble, horrible guy, credit to Adams he came across as a gentleman throughout, I read last week that John Jackson has been done with child sex offenses


Whenever I watch American reality shows like this I cant help think but Brits and Yanks are so different, the Americans take everything so seriously and everythings a mind game to win, I watch Masterchef everyone is so nice to each other and just quietly try their best, watch the US version everyone wants to win by any means necessary and love to antagonise the other contestants and always sobbing like wee girls whenever they get eliminated, Yanks love to go on about their tough upbringings as well, sure ive no doubt its another world out there but plenty people have been dealt sh1t hands over here too but most of us don't bang on about it constantly and let it define us

Moore is not a pleasant individual it's fair to say got found out eventually against guys who boxed him rather than allowing him to work them over with big hooks on the inside/ropes. Early doors I fancied Walker to make the final & to be fair he put up a good showing throughout.

I saw about Jackson on here a few weeks back, couldn't believe that, horrific.

Adams is a good character & respectful of his opponents, got the job done when it mattered. Had the trickier run to the final too I'd say. Would like to see him put up a good showing in the Charlo fight next month

Just checked the BoxRec event for the final of this series, didn't realise a fair few others from the show fought each other on the undercard in 6 rounders as well (only the co-main and main were shown).

Ievgen Khytrov stopped Malcolm McAllister in round 4, the rest went to the cards..quite liked Khytrov, he was a good craic once he came out of his shell a bit
