Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
I quite like him but a couple of minutes on YouTube is enough Shannon Briggs to go a long way
Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
I thought he would have got a big fight in the last few years.
Too expensive? Too dangerous? Or an accident waiting to happen?

I'd rather go to the dentist, TBH.
Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
A bit of all three. Too expensive for a semi high profile fight, too dangerous for plenty of fringe types and an accident waiting to happen against a top guy. Plus his issues with PED's don't help.

Surely this is guarenteed to by cancelled on the week of the event!
Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
Emphatically yes! I wonder if organisations schedule these events and then hope for the best. If they've given him a cash guarantee they should have their credit cards cut up.slapbangwhallop wrote: ↑15 Mar 2019, 09:35 Surely this is guarenteed to by cancelled on the week of the event!
Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
he hasnt been dangerous for years and years
theres a reason hes been fighting 100 percent stiffs and is simply trying to blab his way to a big fight instead of fighting to it
seems hes gone a bit quiet though. maybe the divisions getting too hot for him

Shannon Briggs, dangerous?

Maybe in 2000, not so now.
He's almost 50 years old and has done more shouting than fighting in recent times.

Not being dangerous is normally when you are in demand, esp when you have a name and are marketable.Syntax Error wrote: ↑15 Mar 2019, 12:28 Shannon Briggs, dangerous?

This is why I am surprised he hasn't got himself a big fight in recent years.
There must be some reason for it?

Age and inactivity. If he wants to fight, let him fight Oliver McCall or Danny Williams.Coco wrote: ↑15 Mar 2019, 13:20Not being dangerous is normally when you are in demand, esp when you have a name and are marketable.Syntax Error wrote: ↑15 Mar 2019, 12:28 Shannon Briggs, dangerous?

If he hasn't fancied fighting that's down to him and could be it.oogiebe wrote: ↑15 Mar 2019, 13:23Age and inactivity. I would have thought he would have been offered a title shot when you compare him to others around.
Teper, Breazdale, Molina etc I'm not saying he is better than these guys but as a promoter you would think Briggs is far more profitable! Unless he was asking for big purses
Re: An afternoon with Shannon Briggs anyone?
He's an insufferable tool with literally nothing to say. He's not even really like that; he just came up with that irritating persona to sell tickets, and even that didn't work.
His only real fan was Adjustafuk and he was similarly a simpleton troll.
Imagine those two sitting in a bar prattling on about Daffy Duck and Tyrone Spong.
