Normally I take everything Edward Hearn says with a pinch of salt but he raised a very good point in Boxing Socials interview regarding Al appearing to be both manager + promoter
I know he settled his dispute with Top Rank a few years ago - but I think it is important to understand what is he and why is he so fixated to only match up his fighters on his network
Anyone got any more information?
Is Al Haymon a manager or promoter?

Advisor and manager
Re: Is Al Haymon a manager or promoter?
i do find it interesting how when haymon boxers get offers from promoters like matchroom , top rank, etc....they bring up haymon as if hes there current promoter and frame it as 'hearn/etc vs haymon'
seems like he does a very good job of acting like a promoter while getting around being officially classified as one

Nicely said. I think Haymon does a great job of skirting around the law without actually breaking itjamamb wrote: ↑21 Mar 2019, 13:07 i do find it interesting how when haymon boxers get offers from promoters like matchroom , top rank, etc....they bring up haymon as if hes there current promoter and frame it as 'hearn/etc vs haymon'

Yeh. Because he owns PBC and has fighters signed up to PBC.
It’s kinda like how MTK is a management company.. and then they do shows too..
