Ukashir Farooq - British Bantamweight Champion

Bantamweight is not the most glamourous division but recently caught some footage of the current bantamweight champion Kash Farooq from Scotland via Pakistan. I have to say he looks a very tidy fighter; good workrate and great head movement. He's good to watch and at only 23 years old I'm sure he will continue to improve. He makes the second defense of his title in a month's time against fellow unbeaten Kyle Williams from Wolverhampton. I know his trainer is Craig Watson - anyone know anymore abouut him? (Amateur record, promoter etc).

I wonder if a fight between fellow Scot and Commonwealth champ Lee McGregor is on the cards for this year. Be great to see the lighter divisions get a little more exposure - I remember some cracking british bantamweight fights back in the day like the Johnny Armour - Ampofo trilogy. Also be interesting to see if a certain Mr.Patel would attempt to fight for the british or continue his foreign stint fighting top level world class operators.

Mcgregor is with mtk now it was announced on social media a few weeks ago
