I'm liking this fight on the usyk uc. Anybody else like Mike's chances?

I hope he fights romanov too he seems like mix of Hasim Rahman and Michael Spinks last fight was nice. He seems to get really tired at heavy though rather seem him at cruiserweight would find easier money fights with denis lebdev or uysk 2.

A close call now, although prime Povetkin would have been more favorable. Anyway we possibly haven't seen prime Hunter yet. An interesting matchup in any case.

Is this a go? Hunter may be getting Pov at the right time. It'd be a good fight, that I'm sure of.

If the Povetkin that held his own with Joshua for a few rounds shows up it will be interesting.

Is this just speculation or is this fight on? Can't find anything on it.

Last I had heard, Whyte vs Hunter was being discussed. Oh well.

It was a couple of weeks ago. I didn't note the date as it was just something being 'discussed' they said.

Would be a good name for Hunter at HW.

It will be interesting to see if it is too big of a jump for Hunter at the weight, though Povetkin's best days are behind him.

Was always looking forward to seeing Povetkin vs Wilder.

I'd quite fancy Hunter's chances. Povetkin is in decline and while he is still a good test for anyone, he might struggle to cope with Hunter's speed and movement.

I like Hunter. He's got decent skills and a great attitude. He will genuinely believe he has the beating of Povetkin and that is a good starting point. Marco Huck gave a younger Povetkin all sorts of problems despite being only a cruiserweight so it isn't an impossible task.

The main reason for Michael Hunter receiving some recognition on the heavyweight scene was due to his victory over Alexander Ustinov.

Ustinov was terrible in that fight. He would have been beaten by most top-thirty rated heavyweights the night he lost to Hunter.

Michael Hunter is very small, not just in height but in terms of physique also. He didn’t impress me when I watched him beat Ustinov. He didn’t show me anything that night to suggest he’d pose a threat to the best in the division.

Assuming he has something left in the tank and has not been ruined by the AJ stoppage loss, I expect Alexander Povetkin to beat Michael Hunter with ease.

To be fair he did well against the much bigger Martin Bakole Ilunga as well. Admittedly it was largely as a result of his trainer lauding him to the skies, and his supposedly "world class sparring sessions" with Joshua, but Bakole was regarded as heading toward the world top ten before Hunter put him into perspective.

It's only Usyk that has made Hunter look second best and I'm sure most would agree there is no shame in coming up short against Oleksandr Usyk.
