I’d go with Tszyu. But not a bad fight all the same. Buttergieg or Rocky Jerkic against Tszyu would be interesting. But fighting for the Aussie title is a start. And I don’t think Camelleri will be a walk over.

Maybe your right Tim is the Great Kostya son but still not a PPV event surely the fighters are not getting payed off how many people buy it. will probably be a decent fight Camilleri not long ago lost a competitive fight to Dwight [Cowboy] Ritchie who is a very good tactical boxer.

shouldve been pushing this on free to air, or at least standard foxtel channels - not PPV.

I too am astounded this fight is PPV in Australia. What is the point of the PPV?, I am only guessing but I would have thought they would do less than 500 buys at AUD$49.95? Surely the best long term plan is to promote Tim's fights on the normal Fox Sports channels up to the point that he is ready to challenge for a world title (if he ever gets that far) at which point they can switch over and do PPV. If this fight does 500 buys, and Fox Sports gets half that money, then the promoter gets $12.5K towards the cost of the show, it just seems all wrong to me.

I am a big Aussie boxing fan, but no way will I be paying $50 to watch Tim Tszyu fight for an Australian Title on a Wednesday night.

Too be honest i think these sort of PPV nights , do more to harm boxing than bring new fans too watch .

I agree 100%, in the case of the more educated fan who understands the levels that boxers needs to rise through then they just look at this and feel insulted when being asked to pay $50 for an Australian title fight.

Can someone please explain the rational behind putting this fight on PPV, who ultimately makes that decision? The promoter of Tszyu (No Limit Boxing) in conjunction with the broadcaster obviously, but what is their rationale here? I see very little selling of the fight to the Australian audience, how on earth are they going to find more than 500 people to pay for this fight and the undercard?

Appears the judges had it wider than most. In your opinion did the right guy get the decision ? I didn’t watch it, just did my best to follow some blogs.

I have not been able to see the fight yet, but from the reports I have read it seems it was exactly the type of fight Tszyu needed at this stage of his career, a good learning fight where he was challenged but was able to make some adjustments and in the end get the win.

That was his first pro fight but it wasn’t for the Australian title.
