Jazza Dickens teams up with Tony Bellew ahead of return

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Jazza Dickens has made an adjustment to his team ahead of his next fight.

The former WBA Super world super-bantamweight title challenger is back in action on Friday.

Dickens tops the bill at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool, exclusively live on iFL TV, on an MTK Global-promoted Fight Night card.

The ex-two-time British champion will move up in weight to take on Nasibu Ramadhan in an official final eliminator for the Commonwealth featherweight crown.

Leigh Wood holds the belt and will defend it on May 10, at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN Stateside, against former champion Ryan Doyle.

And before his return, the 28-year-old has made a managerial change and teamed up with former WBC cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew.

“I am really buzzing with this news as he’s achieved so much for Liverpool boxing and already achieved everything that I dream of achieving,” said Dickens, who added that the fact that ‘Bomber’ is an Evertonian – just like him – “makes it even better.”

A win over the 27-year-old Tazanian southpaw will put Dickens in title contention quickly in his new division.

“I’m happy to be fighting again in Liverpool,” he continued. “This is perfect for me as this fight gives me the opportunity to be at home around the people who mean the most to me.

“I’ve seen Ramadhan box once before and he impressed me. He can box and fight and is not to be underestimated.”

Dickens’ clash with Ramadhan tops a card packed with local talent.

Anybody know who his previous manager was?

Fair play, I hope he gets some opportunities.

From his tweets he has been looking to get on Matchroom shows - hopefully this is a way in for him.

On a seperate note, I have heard Boomers name mentioned with quite a few boxers - anybody know how many / who he manages?

Ha supportive! Is Jazza that bad? I've only seen him against Rigo and there wasn't much time to judge him in that one

Jazza Dickens will be back in title action very soon.

The 28-year-old knocked out Nasibu Ramadhan on Friday, exclusively live on iFL TV.

Dickens, who linked up with Tony Bellew in the build-up to his return, is now mandatory for Leigh Wood’s Commonwealth featherweight title after icing the Tanzanian at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool atop an MTK Global Fight Night card.
