This will be a super motivated Charlo. I can't see Harrison repeating the magic. Charlo wide decision.

If you ask me it was the judges who worked their magic. Something super-natural went on anyway. Harrison was competitive and fought well, but he didn't do enough to win. I've seen worse robberies but this first fight would have to go down as petty larceny at least. Coincidentally, I watched that fight today without being consciously aware that the inevitable re-match was already in the offing.
I want to see Jermell vs Hurd.

No doubt. I had Charlo easily the winner. But now he has more to prove and it will be a wider decision.candyslim wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 17:46 If you ask me it was the judges who worked their magic. Jermell Charlo vents frustration during opening press conference
Charlo being the ever-grumpy fellow he is, he took to the podium to direct some strong words at the current titleholder leading into their rematch. Here’s what he had to say...
“We obviously know what happened [in the first fight]. Like, I’m not the type of person to dwell on anything in the past. I’ma take that L and let it build me. He got two losses already, so he knows what it feels like. I’m the individual that didn’t, at that moment, and now I’ma person that do. And now I’ma come into this new fight with a whole different mindset, a much better game plan. So did it affect me? Of course. Any young fighter my age, doing what we do, putting our life on the line, deserves to win.
“One thing that ya’ll know I do well is destroy those who think they can run their mouth like Mr. Tony do. Enjoy your belt while you got it, right? Of course, you the champ, right? You supposed to get the belt and feel confident and run around like you that dude and all this other extra things.
“And I’m a man outside of boxing. Now I don’t know how ya’ll take disrespect, but I don’t take disrespect well. But you not me [Charlo says to Harrison], and you not in my shoes so keep your mouth shut!...Like I said, I wish a blessing to you and your father, I’m glad that ya’ll got the opportunity again to do what ya’ll do, but you know personally yourself that you didn’t do enough to win that [first] fight. Why in the world is the world saying ‘that was a robbery’?!
“You know, I take that like it’s cool because the best thing that can happen is I get the best redemption ever. And I know for a fact that you never been in a position where you got redemption, so you don’t know how it feel...I’m glad for the changes that I made outside of boxing and I represent a much larger city that got my back. You know, not just the city, that I got a lot of people, I’m the people’s champ all around the world. It’s not just — my popularity has grown since a robbery, do you know what I mean?...
“I’m training, I been training, I took this like a wake up. It was like ‘I’m Jermell Charlo, whatchu doing it for all these years?’ I love what I do. Like I said, I’m glad I kept my composure with this individual because I would’ve really did something bad to him and I had to think about my career first. Yeah. Like I said, ‘Keep your cool, Piru.’ I’m different. I don’t play that. Just as long as you know that, homeboy! I don’t care what you say, you gonna respect me. The call me Mr. Keep Runnin’ Your Mouth, and you fucked up!”

Re: Tony Harrison vs. Jermell Charlo II - Postponed
Bitter rivals Tony Harrison and Jermell Charlo will have to wait a few more months to settle their differences in the ring.
An anticipated June 23 rematch between the pair of top-rated super welterweights has been postponed. The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger was the first to report Monday afternoon that Harrison has withdrawn from their second bout.
BS.com has learned that an ankle injury suffered by Harrison during training camp has put the Detroit native on the sidelines. Harrison is scheduled to have surgery Wednesday to repair torn ligaments in his ankle.
BS.com also has been informed that to remain in position for this rematch, Charlo will have to get past Harrison’s substitute, Mexico’s Jorge Cota, on June 23. Pending approval from FOX, the bout between Charlo (31-1, 15 KOs) and Cota (28-3, 25 KOs) is expected to headline a “PBC on FOX” doubleheader that night from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Cota, 31, lost his last fight. The Dominican Republic’s Jeison Rosario (19-1-1, 13 KOs) edged Cota by split decision in their 10-round bout April 20 in Carson, California.
Cota also lost by fourth-round technical knockout to Erickson Lubin in March 2017 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Charlo knocked out Lubin (20-1, 15 KOs) in the first round of their October 2017 title fight at Barclays Center.
The chief support for FOX’s June 23 show remains intact. Lineal super bantamweight king Guillermo Rigondeaux – Cuba’s two-time Olympic Gold medalist – will defend his crown versus Mexico’s Julio Ceja, a former 122-pound titlist.
His injury is a bitter disappointment for Harrison (28-2, 21 KOs), who won the WBC 154-pound title thanks to a hotly contested 12-round decision over Houston’s Charlo (31-1, 15 KOs) on December 22 at Barclays Center. That bout served as part of the first primetime show of the rebranded “PBC on FOX” series, which peaked at more than 2.4 million viewers.

Jermell Charlo Reveals That Rematch is Set With Tony Harrison
Courtesy of Jermell Charlo’s Instagram, he revealed the news of a deal being reached between the two. He kept it short and sweet when regarding the rematch he has been waiting for.
“December 21st… Nothing he can do !!! NO RESPECT SEASON”
Even with a championship around his waist, Harrison was never given the respect he felt he deserved.
“There were three championship judges who all said I won,” said Harrison during an interview a few months back. “I don’t pay attention to what Jermell has to say but I can’t wait to beat him again and prove to everyone that I am the champion now.”

Re: Tony Harrison vs. Jermell Charlo II - December 21, 2019
The highly anticipated WBC Super Welterweight Title rematch between Tony "Superbad'' Harrison and Jermell "Iron Man'' Charlo will headline live in primetime in FOX PBC Fight Night Action and on FOX Deportes Saturday, December 21 from Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Harrison vs. Charlo II is a high-voltage rematch that has been building ever since the end of the first matchup. The two were set to meet in June, but the rematch was postponed when Harrison suffered torn ligaments after spraining his ankle in training.
Now that he is fully healed, Harrison is ready to solidify his hold on the title while Charlo is ready to take back what he believes belongs to him. The rematch comes just one day short of a full year from the first time the two stepped into ring against each other on FOX.
"After a dramatic and razor thin first fight, Tony Harrison and Jermell Charlo are sure to be at their best on December 21 when they settle their rivalry in a can't miss rematch," said Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions. "This is the kind of high stakes 50-50 fight that belongs in primetime on FOX and I know that the Southern California boxing fans watching in Ontario will love everything that these two champions bring to the ring."
Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Lions Only Promotions and TGB Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
In the first meeting, Harrison deployed a tactical defensive strategy that blunted much of the force of Charlo's high-powered offense. The intrigue of the rematch is whether Harrison will be able to use a similar strategy to remain champion or will Charlo be able to impose his will on Harrison and regain the title.
The 29-year-old Harrison (28-2, 21 KOs) entered the first match against Charlo having come up short in his previous world title attempt. He lost to Jarrett Hurd in a bid for the IBF title in 2017. Harrison, a protégé of the late Emanuel Steward and a native of Detroit, bounced back with three strong performances, including a decision victory over former world champion Ishe Smith.
It was an emotional night for Charlo (32-1, 16 KOs) the first time he fought Harrison. He and his twin brother, Jermall, the WBC Middleweight World Champion, were defending their titles on a FOX PBC Fight Night doubleheader at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Jermell and many ringside observers thought he had done enough to beat Harrison, but the judges saw it differently, handing Harrison a unanimous decision victory and setting up a hotly contested rematch.
A 29-year-old native of Houston, Texas, Charlo, won the title with a knockout victory over John Jackson in 2016. He went on to establish himself as one of the best young finishers in the sport with devastating stoppage victories over Charles Hatley and Erickson Lubin in defense of the title. He scored a majority decision over former world champion Austin Trout before taking on Harrison and most recently scored a knockout victory over Jorge Cota on FOX in June.
