WBC no longer recognizing WBA as a major world title?

Check out the ratings on their website. WBA basically just a footnote.
https://wbcboxing.com/en/welterweight/
A step in the right direction, the WBA has become a farce. Hopefully the IBF and WBO do the same.

Yeh, a strange one. I thought it was because WBA have more than one champion.
But at 140, only Relikh's the champion and they're still down there.

TBH, if they didn't recognise them as a major world title, then Thurman, Pac would be ranked.

Yes!!!!
That is what I'd like to see. Maybe we can get some mandatory unifications

WBA is by far the worst rankings of the sanctioning bodies, but they all suck. I don't like precluding each others belt holders as it (obviously) makes their rankings incomplete at best. That said, the WBA has become a joke, even amongst jokes.

The best thing the wbc could do is rank other champions. That way we get unification fights and they still get their sanctioning fees as well as the moral high ground over the other orgs.

Completely agree. I wonder if those fighters just refuse or their management makes that choice not to pay.

I think nobody really cares about the WBC does anyone? I rate the WBA far higher in every case.
You're kidding of course. The WBA is the worst of the lot. The WBC is probably the best, even though it leaves off the best HW out there.

Fighters still talk about winning the WBC belt. It has a historical iconic status that the wbo and ibf don't have.
All orgs are corrupt and greedy though unfortunately

I think the boxrec rankings are the best TBH, in some cases even they are flawed, if you carefully select you can achieve high rankings.
I also think that if you end up in a different weightclass, your rating should be halfed or even quartered in the other weightclass. Piles of top cruiserweight have no chance at all in the heavyweights, despite they will receive a ridiculous high rating. Tony Bellew was rank 3 of the world as a heavyweight, which obviously never made sense.
I think BR takes .54 when a fighter goes from CW to HW. We'll see as soon as Usyk's first fight is in the books.

The WBC no longer recognising the WBA is like Telly Savalas not recognising Ving Rhames for being bald.
They're as bad as each other.

Nothing has changed. The WBC has never recognised champions from other governing bodies.

Does this mean they don't recognize Joshua as a viable opponent for wilder?

Funny you post that. As you know, the WBC doesn't have AJ in their rankings, but they endorsed an AJ/Wilder fight not too long ago. Money Money Money!

I know. The point was how they "ok'd" the Wilder/AJ fight.

Did Mendoza not send Soliman a birthday card. I bet the reason is some ridiculous thing like that.

So, with Canelo holding the WBC and WBA belts, does this mean he could become his own mandatory?
