If Taylor gets through to the final, him and Prograis will be some fight. I think Prograis is the quicker of the two and has more one punch power and is also slicker. That said I think Taylor's boxing ability combined with being the busier of the two, could also give Prograis some problems I think.

It's a great matchup though.

Taylor will beat Baranchyk comfortably in my opinion and I’d make him and Prograis pick em

On what he has done so far I can't see how anyone can see him as guaranteed to win this fight and will be competitive in elite class.

Baranchyk is well schooled and carrys reasonable power. Hate to say it, but this isn't a gimmie for Taylor.

Agreed, he looks strong at 140 & will bring the fight to Josh definitely - as a Taylor fan I hope he gets the job done but I don't think it will be easy.

Depends on how Josh approaches the fight. He can scrap and has some dog in him but he'd be better served sticking to his boxing. I think he's a better boxer than Baranchyk and could make things easy if he shows some patience and maturity. He tends to get carried away and caught up in the atmosphere at times though. I think he'll win though.

Prograis is a talent and formidable. Him and Taylor in the final/unification is a very interesting fight. Both are well capable of beating the other.... Taylor has a hard night in front of him before he can think about Prograis though...

Why of course? Taylor isn't an easy job for anyone and he's improving all the time. Prograis is a force but Taylor is a quality operator. We've not really seen Prograis pressured and banged up to the body and Taylor is one of the best in that respect.

Baranchyk is a handful, I do fancy Taylor to get to grips with him by the mid rounds and win a clear decision. But Baranchyk will make him work for every round.

Prograis looks quality and will certainly start as favourite vs the winner of this fight, but it would be no gimme for him.

I fancy Taylor to beat Baranchyk but it will be tough and he might not look good doing it! Baranchyk looks like he's in the Shawn Porter mould as in he's near impossible to look good against!

Baranchyk seems to rely a lot on wide, looping shots and a savvy operator like Taylor can take advantage of what, to my eye anyway, often look telegraphed intentions. Prograis’ brutal destruction of the more than handy Relikh suggests he’s something special and I’d make him a slight favourite if Taylor comes through his semi.

Ivan's wide looping shots can catch an opponent. He also won't wither up in the later rounds like Postol did.
We will have to see more improvement in Taylor's defence this time out.
And your totally right about Reggie.
When the seedings were announced last year, I thought Taylor has got this. Then Prograis becomes even more of a beast!
And when I did some research on Baranchyk, well, he is no pushover.

Hello lads. Long-time lurker, first time poster.

I can’t wait for the Taylor fight, he’s one of my current favourites. I think Baranchyk will bring another level out of Josh, as we’ve seen before when he steps up.

Ivan is a brick wall at the weight, but think Taylor’s speed and range will allow him to just land and land. Think he does it fairly wide on points.

The Prograis - Taylor fight has me hyped. Think it will be a classic.

Reggie has changed his tune;

“I think it’s a real good fight,” Prograis said. “It’s a 50-50 fight. I actually lean more towards Josh Taylor because he’s more of a complete boxer. But Baranchyk is tough, he’s strong, he’s gonna keep coming forward and he has a big punch. Josh Taylor, if he hits him clean, he has a possibility to hurt him and maybe get him out of there. So, I don’t know.”

Last year Reggie was confident it would be himself Vs Baranchyk in the final. Wonder what has changed?
