Puke. Why don't these idiots manage their money better. That's got to be the only reason that Jones is still fighting.

He said he simply loves the sport and loves getting in the ring to box.

He has an estimated net worth of over $55 million.

I wouldn't read much into that mate, numbers are so misleading online leaves folk like us confused about the reality!

There were reports during December 2015 of Roy Jones Jr’s serious financial troubles, where he was receiving constant reminders from debt collectors, as well as owing a $3m tax bill to the US government, which were paid off by Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov.

Hryunov paid Jones Jr’s creditors directly, via Roy’s lawyer (John Wirt).

Vladimir Hryunov explained that Roy did earn tens of millions of dollars throughout the course of his career, but the majority of his funds were used on business ventures which failed, such as a large number of real estate ventures and misallocation of payments that led to serious financial problems.

Not many other lines of work where you can make so much money for so little work.

Especially if you're as skilled as Roy. He can dance around for 36 minutes to collect a decent paycheck no problem. He might even have some fun whilst he's doing it.

Best of luck Roy, but just don't get in with any quick dynamite fisted opposition!

I don't think it's sad. Selling extra homes and cars, etc.. he damb sure had fun spending it and will never truly be 'broke'.

But he already had his promised farewell fight last year.

In his hometown, no less.

What's one more bout going to do for Jones? He's a name he's not going to get rich any longer. Not by fighting club fighters.

Expect this to be the start of a comeback that won't end until the night he's carried from the ring.

I fear you will be right - hard to imagine such a great still scrambling round for fights at his age.

And it was Jones who said decades ago that he would never want to stay in boxing too long and potentially sustain injuries like his friend Gerald McClellan.

Roy Jones turned 50 in January.

Its sad to see this happen but i think his close ones are to blame. These old fighters who are still in relatively decent shape go to the gym and look good. They spar young guys who treat them with the respect they deserve because how could you not? The thing is it gives them a false sense of confidence on their ability. They look well in the gym against someone who wouldn't dare to be the douche that embarrassed a great one. Then comes fight night and here comes a real opponent who really wants to hurt them. It does not end well... It sounds bad but i think going hard at him at the gym and getting embarrassed by a regular joe at the gym might help him realize its over. Save him from himself.

The RBO win the prize of tackiest and cheapest looking belt, which given the competition is quite some achievement...
