Jay Harris vs Angel Moreno

Post by handsofstone »

This Saturday live on IFLs YouTube page(I think) decent fight for the vacant European Flyweight title, unbeaten Commonwealth champ Harris squares off against former World title challenger Moreno, thought Moreno put in a great effort against Edwards last time out, lost every round and was put down but he never stopped coming forward and making things uncomfortable for Edwards who was simply too well schooled, it was a hard fought shut out for Edwards

I haven't seen much of Harris since he beat Essomba for the Commonwealth title a couple of years back, that was another hard fought win but desereved, Ive seen Harris once or twice propping up undercards since then but disappointing in how his title reign has been, he's a good boxer, I know he stopped the Scottish guy Ross Murray in a title defence not too long ago but never seen that fight

I'd say Harris might be a bigger puncher than Edwards but I doubt he stops Moreno or wins as wide as Edwards did but I think he'll win a close one

Harris wins a wide UD to win the European Flyweight title, I agreed with the judge who had it a shut out, Moreno as expected was game and made it gruelling for Harris but he was outhustled and outlanded in every round, Harris had the quality as well, it was great tussle despite the wide cards, it was fought at a frantic pace for 12 rounds, both guys came out swinging both got stunned in the opener

Moreno was dangerous but wild with swings, Harris had a lot more method in his work, choosing to fight it out with Moreno rather than box, some nice left hooks to head and body, working the right hand and firing in some sharp combinations, engine was terrific as well, he seemed to finish with his foot on the gas like he started, excellent performance, showed his mettle

Him and Edwards would make an interesting fight
