Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
Kabayel is nowhere as quick and hard punching as Ruiz.. but who knows
Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
Interesting. We'll probably never know, unless AJ's dad spills it.
Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
Sometimes I think, that people begin to search for the reasons of Joshua's loss in places, where they shouldn't search them. Maybe Joshua just wasn't that good? Maybe he just made a foolish mistake of trying to bully a wounded animal? In my opinion, only those factors really mattered.

The intriguing thing for me is finding out what AJ's dad was going on about. Ruiz beat the piss out of AJ, that was clear.DrDuke wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 14:58 Sometimes I think, that people begin to search for the reasons of Joshua's loss in places, where they shouldn't search them. Hearn has stated Kabayel wasn't even in camp with Joshua.

That's it. Those sparring rumors are always ridiculous.Boxing Prospect wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 15:43 Hearn has stated Kabayel wasn't even in camp with Joshua.

Excuses Excuses. Boxers get beat up in sparring all the time. Holyfield got beat up but always was up for the fight. Leonard got beat up before the Hagler fight. Nothing was wrong with Joshua except he got his bell rung by Ruiz.

.."allegedly" being the key word here..

There's no excuses once you get in that ring. Every fighter gets banged up in camp. It's the nature of the sport.
Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
Not that I believe any of the rumors (some really sad), but getting beat up in sparring may not be 'telling' as yes, it is sparring, but it can get into one's head. One might begin to question/second guess things about yourself. A shot to the confidence.
Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
True fighters take such shots well and after that come out to the ring ready to whoop anybody.

LMAO! We should have had one RUMOR THREAD. Now the rumor is that Joey Dawejko is the guy who "KO'd" Joshua in training. Who will it be next? You gotta have a sense of humor to enjoy this!

Sparring isn't the same action as a paid match. Sparring is practicing specifically and champs let chumps get closer to them in sparring than they would in a live match sometimes. If you've ever sparred against a novice klutz you'll know what I mean.

Yeeea and Yoshua cry like a baby
Re: This Man Allegedly KO'd Joshua in Sparring
Look at all the people now writing off AJ after one stupid loss. Saying that he was never any good now just because he had s bad night.
You can say that AJ’s chin is questionable if you want but the punch that Ruiz landed on AJ leading to the first knockdown was in the worst possible spot for a boxer. That spot between the temple and ear always seems to be the worst spot for boxers.
I honestly think that it was just the perfect punch at the perfect time. Nothing more. Nothing less. I’d still take AJ in a fight against anyone but Wilder and maybe Fury.
