i actually think that it is not a good idea. the WBO belt should be at stake of this fight rather to be awarded to Głowacki just days before this fight. of course, Głowacki had the WBO interim belt so that is why they have upgraded him, but i just don't like when the fighters get the title like this.

Glowacki will face Briedis very soon, so this is only a formal step.
I am not sure for WBC and IBF titles, but anyway we will know very soon, I suppose.

It seems that WBC made Usyk "champion in recess", so it is possible that Glowacki-Briedis winner will become the WBO/WBC CW champion.

You have to admit - this is not bad for boxing, especially for the CW.

of course. i just mean - Głowacki shouldn't be already awarded the title - they could just put the WBO title at stake of this fight, together with the WBC belt. Now, even if Głowacki losses, he will have the right to tell that he was a two time world champion, even if his second reign lasted 10 days only.

Yes, it is a little bit bizarre, but, I can not wait to see Glowacky-Briedis fight. It might be very, very hot...................

I have re-watched the Usyk-Briedis and Usyk-Głowacki fights. To be honest, i do not think that Głowacki was much worse against Usyk than Briedis was - it's just styles make fights.

That said, i think that Briedis style will be a problem for Główka. But Głowacki has his advantages too like the southpaw stance. And he easily defeated top 10 ranked Vlasov, while Briedis looked very bad in his last 2 fights and arguably lost to Gevor.

But the Latvian has the advantage of home crowd (and judges, i guess...)

Anyway, it's a 50/50 fight, two ex-champions fighting for 2 titles, both have decent power, very decent skills, good chins and similar records - It gonna be entertaining :box:

I hope that we will see the exciting fight (and expect the fair judging, of course). Regarding home crowd, sometimes it is not an advantage.

i heard that some people that are behind Briedis are paying money to the WBSS... This is why lots of fights are staged in Riga and probably this is why they have screwed Gevor (116-110 card was a joke)

Maybe this is also why the CW semi-finals were delayed a lot - Briedis needed time to take care of his small injuries, i expect better Briedis than in his last fight.
