Re: heavyweight pay
This is a great question. I've wondered why they are all getting these huge payouts.
The answer everyone keeps throwing out is the networks are gambling in hopes of a l9ng term pay off.
I just can't see these 100 million dollar contracts paying off

Re: heavyweight pay
AJ in the UK, legit can earn £20m per fight, depending on his opponent.
If his fight sells at a 1m buyrate, then it's believable. Then he has sponsors and shiit. But yeh, DAZN paid him at flat out $30m or somat.

Looks like DAZN’s unreasonable money waste influenced all other broadcast player...
Re: heavyweight pay
Huge money from DAZN who are obviously betting big on boxing, doesn’t Canelo have a massive contract too? The problem is, when one broadcaster pays it then others have to follow suit, the same with football clubs and transfer fees...bigman1968 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2019, 13:19 Looks like DAZN’s unreasonable money waste influenced all other broadcast player...

This is part of the reason why they can all swerve each other.
They're making big enough amounts dough fighting overmatched opponents, so no need to risk fighting each other for the paydays.
