One Last Great Performance By A Legend

Post by keithmoonhangover »

Is there a better example than Thomas Hearns beating the then unbeaten, future hall of famer Virgil Hill? Hearns had struggled with James Kinchen a few years before, but pulled this result off. Amazing.

Although i'm a massive Lewis fan,i don't think it was a great performance,he just managed to get through it.

He dug deep, and caused one of the more horrific cuts in recent memory forcing a stoppage on a man who was never again defeated in several fights, and stamped himself as a Hall of Famer in his own right.

I realize he struggled, but I'd say it qualifies.

it was only a little nick and not a gaping arsehole of a cut, vit was ahead and going to win the fight. vit was robbed and was the real winner. he sent lewis the ducker into retirment. vitali has an amazing ko rate.

A little nick?

That cut was so deep you could see his soul. It looked like a fornicating fanny on the blob.

Its definitely up there. Hill was a fine fighter, and hearns past his best and fighting at a much higher weight. Great result.

Duran v Barkley for me too, what a performance.
