Diego De La Hoya upset TKO'd by Ronny Rios!
Ronny Rios (31-3, 15KO) scored a spectacular upset knockout victory over previously undefeated WBA #3 Diego De La Hoya (21-1, 10KO) to win the NABF and WBA Gold super bantamweight titles. It was an all action fight, throughout, with both fighters willingly exchanging at close quarters. By the fifth round, Rios was starting to take control with hard hooks, body shots and uppercuts. About a minute into the sixth round, Rios landed a hard right uppercut that floored De La Hoya. De La Hoya would struggle to his feet but then told the referee he could not continue leading the referee to call an end to the bout at 1:17 of the sixth round. - fightnews

Diego has reportedly been having enormous weight problems for more than a year.
Might have been foolish for him to make 122.
See how it goes for him when he returns at featherweight or even 130.

Looks like Diego is done. He just plain quit when he looked as if he could easily have gone on. His explanation after the fight was even more alarming. basically, He just didn’t feel good “

I've seen probably more of Diego's fights than I should have. He seems to get on the televised coverage of Golden Boy cards a lot (for some reason).
And from what I have seen of him, this loss is not unexpected.
Maybe he will move up and regroup. He isn't a bad boxer, he just needs more experience against guys not tailer made for him.

The issue looked though he wasn’t badly hurt (visibly) - he just chucked it on the night and you wouldn’t want to place much faith after watching that in him.KiwiRider wrote: ↑14 Jul 2019, 17:14 I've seen probably more of Diego's fights than I should have. Alejandro Rochin, the judge who had Deontay Wilder winning over Tyson Fury, was at it again in this bout giving first four rounds to De La Hoya...
Incompetent or corrupt??

Not seen it yet.
Last time I checked which was awhile ago, Diego was supposed to be a bit of a boy and could have it.
Gonna hold off on evaluating him and Rios until I see it.

They just kept feeding him push over after push over. It was alright for his first 15 fights as he was really young. Now he isn't so young, and because he has had so many tailer made 'opponents' he ain't learned nuffin.
Rios had the right idea going for the KO, he was never going to won a decision against the cousin of Garter Boy on a Garter Boy show.
