I believe that athletes get better over time. And if we compare a 6’3 Ali to a 6’9 Fury, I’d predict that fury would wear Ali down and get a late stoppage.

I don't see Fury winning in any form. Let alone stopping Ali. He's able to look real slick against guys that don't box or move. Ali would be a vastly superior version of the style Fury attempts to fight with.

I believe that when a sport is first introduced, there are improvements for a while, usually 30 years or so. New strategies, and techniques are development that are improvements over what was originally tried.
Then the rate of improvement decreases, eventually stopping. sometimes there eras (the heavyweight division for example) it goes up and down a little over time. Other sports pretty much stays the same.
A lot of people simply have no interest in what came before them and automatically assume that what they see is better than what it used to be. They can't be bothered to actually think.
As for Ali-Fury, Ali would have little to know trouble with him. He would hit him at will and would seldom be hit. A stoppage in the mid-late rounds is the most likely outcome. Best case scenario for Fury is that he would go the distance and lose a lopsided decision.
Would it be different if they fought 10 times? No.

There are guys I'd pick to beat Ali who aren't necessarily deemed as better than him, just bad style matchups for him. This is not a bad style matchup for him. This is a pretty easy night's work for him. Everything Fury does, Ali does better.

The modern athletes only works for some sports. Look at long jumpers. Mike Powell's record has stood for 28 years.
Prime Ali beats any heavyweight ever IMO.

Styles make fights, so he can be beaten, but he's a handful for anyone ever, and I don't see Fury beating him that's for damn sure.
