Sources around are suggesting Fury's next opponent is going to be Charles Martin.
Good opponent?

Just to see mickey1975 justify it after laying into AJ for fighting him.

Sure beats tom Schwarz. had wilder fought him some posters would be calling him "AJ Leftovers." LOL!

I wouldn't say that he's scraping the barrel. He's a fringe contender at best.

It'll be called poor no matter if its Fury or Wilder

This is poor. Considering fury is probably the number 1 heavyweight right now vsing someone who's Career best performance was a close loss to kownaki is disappointing.

If Top Rank are paying Fury 10m+ for this fair play to Fury - another cherry picked walkover without much risk.

Oh I mean it's not great for the fans. But as a boxer it's hard to say know you 8 figure walkovers.

Yes it is,
I think it’s terrible, but the same people slating it thought AJ was a world champion for beating him.

Ive long maintained that Chuck is nowehere near as bad as his reputation would have (he was pretty much same level as kownacki in there fight), but a guy at Furys level should do better, especially after his last opponent was bums ahoy

Could one issue be that Matchroom have that many of the HW on their books now they are struggling for viable opponents ?

Bonus of not holding a belt I guess.
Can keep facing shite and getting away with it, well, sort of ( not seen one person here call it a good match up, at best you get ‘well, Martin isn’t as bad as Schwarz!’

)

Ya, all that talk like lineal is what matters, but having a fantasy title also means you have no obligations to fight anyone and can just keep doing crap

It seems he’s not cut out for long term champion status unfortunately
Slightly different topic, but I attended one of his ‘evening with Tyson Fury’ events recently.
It was awful

Got to say, he doesn’t seem particularly genuine at all and the ‘problems’ he had, could well have been massively overstated. One big money grab set up.
Worked though to be fair!

Its not an amazing fight & personally I'd rather see him vs. a more dangerous opponent , but its another great payday for Tyson & why take any real risk & potentially lose out on the huge money from the Wilder rematch?

An American opponent is wanted but who is there? Wilder, Ruiz and Miller are unavailable.
So we have Martin or so one like Molina, Washington, Breazdale, Arreola, Jennings?
