Nice win for Ortiz!! Orozco is a VERY durable fighter and that's why he was able to last 6 rounds. That was Vergil's longest fight so far and only his 2nd time going past the 3rd round.
VOrtiz looked good, not great v Orozco. The Mexican did not make it easy. He fought well and was in the fight going into the 6th. VOrtiz had trouble with Orozco’s pressure and inside game.
To his credit, VOrtiz admitted to being disappointed with his performance. It has nothing to do with it going 6. He just got hit too much and he stayed on the ropes too often and too long.
Also, there are too many talking heads in the Team VOrtiz corner.
The headliner was a fun fight while it lasted.
Franco vs Negrete III was great.
The only "boring" fight on the show was Tanajara vs Aviles.
17-year-old Tristan Kalkreuth made his pro debut on the show last night. 6' 4" 178lbs, crushed his victim in one round then did a standing back flip in the ring. Watching his career develop will be interesting.
