Middleweights : Mike McCallum vs. Michael Nunn
Your picks,please.
Re: Middleweights : Mike McCallum vs. Michael Nunn
Nunn by decision. Height, speed, skill southpaw too much for McCallum. Herrol Graham gave McCallum a very close fight, imo and Nunn was better than Graham.
Re: Middleweights : Mike McCallum vs. Michael Nunn
I think Mike McCallum would have beaten Michael Nunn by decision.
McCallum is one of the most underated of the elite level boxers I can think of.
Look at some of the names he fought and when he fought them ...
An unbeaten 29-0 Julian Jackson who he stopped in 2 rounds.
31-1-1 Milton McCrory stopped in 10.
Knocked out Don Curry in 5.
Slipped up against Kalambay only to avenge the defeat 3 years later while squeezing wins over Herol Graham, Steve Collins and Michael Watson in between,
Drew the first fight against an unbeaten 28-0-1 young James Toney, McCallum looked like he did enough to win though.
Nunn had his career moments but if they fought at their best I think McCallum would have enough to get by him.
