body punching

Post by Yuzo »

body punching is determined by the ability to identify the way the hips and the elbow pair to form a type of layout and how each of these different layouts predispose the body to a corresponding punch. here is a guide to body punching.

when the hips are squared the body is positioned in a way that will permit the hook to curl around the right elbow.

the more squared the hips are the more prone the body is to being hit there.

Image

when you identify the hips are squared put the hook around the right elbow.

when the hips are squared you can put the hook around the right elbow.

Image

however, when the hips are three quarter, the body is positioned in a way that will cause the right elbow, and the area it is protecting, to move further away denying access there.

Image

so when you identify the hips are three quarter dont try to force the hook to go around the right elbow. try to sneak the hook inside the right elbow.

when a guy is bending over his arms have the tendency to detach from his body.

Image

this may be caused by gravity, or by apathy, or by some mixture of both, but whatever the reason may be, when guys bend over the arms commonly droop and hang out.

Image

when you see a guy bending over and his arms are hanging off of his body there will be a big gap for you to punch into.

Image

check out his elbow and punch into the gap.

whichever way the hips are positioned, whenever the elbow is disconnected from the body, the body is completely exposed. one big reason that will cause the elbow to disconnect from the body is when the hands come up to cover the head.

Image

when the hands come up to cover the head the body is unprotected.

Image

and since the body is unprotected when the hands come up to cover the head you can hit the body easily with a right hand.

yes you can throw the right hand to the body, but just as with any body punch, you have to factor in how his hip is positioned to determine how you have to work around his elbow. the only vital organ the right hand can usually access is the kidney. but the kidney is on the back. the back is rarely exposed and so the kidney can rarely be reached by the right hand.

but there is one way. when you shoulder roll, your hips twist, partially exposing your back. heres a chalky wright shoulder roll.

Image

the way to throw the right hand at the shoulder roll is not up at the head but actually down to the body. when the hips twist to shoulder roll, the back is partially exposed, and the right hand can curl around the elbow and access the kidney.

Image

thats a punch sugar ray robinson threw a lot. cases of right hands to the heart were recorded in the past but this an extremely rare punch.

Really like the way you explain stuff , watching your posts , i conclude , most of what you say is how i teach , and was taught ,,,, BUT and its an important BUT ,, you seem to have a very good and easy way of putting it across, your approach is simplistic , and good ,, WELL DONE , keep it up :TU: :TU:
