Post by dagilechia »

Current ranking:

15. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Dominic Breazeale - 20(18) 2(2) 0 - next fight: TBA

Question: How are the rankings affected by πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Dillian Whyte's doping case?

My vote: Whyte out.

At least 15 votes make the voting valid. If before reaching 15 votes, 10 of them will be ''out'', then Whyte gets automatically removed.

I don't follow Whyte's investigation process, cause it's an annoying stuff, so I don't know, if he's officially suspended. If he is, he should be dropped out, as he won't compete in the nearest future. If he's justified or in the process of investigation, than he is still ranked.

Remove from ratings until investigation complete.
Hearn admitted that there was adverse test results. That's enough for at least a temporary removal from ratings in my opinion

Fair enough, but UKAD have refused to confirm whether there is even an ongoing investigation

Personally I find the entire situation pathetic.
There should be an open investigation.
This should be big news all over the sports channels. Make these public too sway others from doing peds.
If he is found innocent ukad makes a public apology. If guilty 8 year ban per their own rules

Well the trouble with doing that is the damage to the reputation of the boxer, loss of earning through sponsorships disappearing is a likely outcome.

Imagine there was a public investigation into Joshua, and it turned out he was innocent.
Will the sponsors want to be attached to his name when many people would assume he is guilty?

Would his reputation ever be fully restored even if he was shown to be innocent?

Yupp, its smells bad around UKAD and how they handling this.

He is out. I say. Doping is what it is. I do the same to anyone else. Cheating is what it is. And the bastard did look really fresh against Rivas in the Late rounds among other things.

I agree to a point. Did the failed testing affect Canelo, Tyson Fury or did rumors of peds hurt Mayweather or Pacquiao?

Neither has Whyte been.

Does a boxer going to prison for non-boxing related actions remove them for the ratings? Would make sense to consider it.

Has Whyte been found guilty of illegally taking drugs by any commission?

Hearn openly said there was a failed test.

So if the B sample was clear or following investigation there was signs or foul play or whatever other legitimate reasoning there may be, he should still be suspended? an adverse finding on its own is not sufficient to deem an athlete's actions as illegal. An investigation, trial and public disclosure should occur before punitive consequences should be applied. Even a temporary, short-term suspension due to a ongoing investigation shouldn't remove boxers from rankings as it's unlikely Whyte would have fought already since the test in question.

but he was tested positive wasn't he? that's confirmed as far as i know. the question is - was he deliberately cheating or not.

Pulev wasn't imprisoned though. In case he was, it would make sense of course.

No he didn't, he admitted there was a problem with a test but has repeatedly stated that he was 'cleared to fight'.

There isn't enough info at the moment to determine whether he has cheated or not.

I say he should stay in for now, but his position is precarious to say the least.
