"Golden Boy Promotions" once again proves how inept they are. Now, I'm no fan of Ryan Garcia, however his promoter GBP knew that his opponent had legal issues as early as Wednesday, Instead of searching for an immediate substitute opponent they do nothing until the weigh in when it's clear that Garcia's opponent will not be able to fight. The latest that I read was that they offered Garcia to fight vs Petr Petrov, a highly skilled former 2 X world title challenger. C'mon fellas. this is not an acceptable last minute sub opponent!

why would a young guy with potential to win millions (even if its based on hype and appearance) go up against the Asian WBA champion Romero Duno (20-1; 15 ko's) as a last second replacement for what Ryan describes as "peanuts." Ryan even said that he would fight Romero last minute if they made the money right.

Ryan Garcia would have to be one stupid mofo to accept this kind of bait and switch at this point in his career and jeopardize millions .

Oh I don't feel sorry for Ryan Garcia ..... I'd confidently say he's my least favorite current fighter. I look forward to seeing him get beat up ... and I very rarely say things like that when talking about this sport. My previous statement was in regards to his promoter (Golden Boy) and how pathetically inept they are.

Garcia was really good in the amateurs but from what I have seen so far he's got an incredibly long way to go in comparison to the elites at his weight.
