A TRIBUTE TO THE GREATEST AMATUER CHAMPION OF ALL TIME 343-2 GUESS WHO!
The greatest Amateur Boxer of All Time with 343 wins and 2 loses. RICHARD (DICK) GUERRERO. He beat Floyd Patterson handily. How many of you have ever seen him fight. A very humble guy, you ever met.

Did he ever turned pro? Damn, that's a hell of an amateur record!

Turned pro, 3-1 record, was knocked out and then no more fights listed.

The guy who beat him was on hunger strike at the time. It would go on to become known as ‘cutting weight’Controversial wrote: ↑15 Oct 2019, 04:25https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/290965elmersalsa wrote: ↑14 Oct 2019, 22:21 Did he ever turned pro? Damn, that's a hell of an amateur record!

345 amateur bouts and he was still only twenty when he had his first pro fight!
Notice he's around five years older than Floyd so Patterson must have been very young when they fought.

He joined the marines and was sent to Korea. He had four pro fights in seven years.

Is that fact? Record looks incomplete to me.Joel Day Daitch wrote: ↑15 Oct 2019, 10:04 He joined the marines and was sent to Korea. He had four pro fights in seven years.

If I missed something, please add it. Thank you.

What I am saying is that you state he had four professional fights. Where did you get this information? Boxrec? The record doesn't look complete to me.
A quick search turned up a Chicago Tribune report on his death which states that he turned pro, then his career was interrupted by a stint in the marines in Korea. After he returned to Boxing and went 7-1 before turning to coaching.

Despite the information in the obituary, I do think the record as we have it is probably complete. Chicago has been pretty well researched for those years and California too for that matter.
