If Canelo beats Kovalev, it will be extremely strong pressure by boxing fans to face Beterbiev. I think Canelo personally is to proud to avoid this fight, but I am not sure about ODLH........................

I don't expect canelo to fight at 75 again for a few years. If he does, no reason to think he wouldn't fight him.

I hope I’m not getting carried away but Beterbiev just became one of the most dangerous people in boxing. There’s a serious number of fights, fans would salivate for.

Namely. Canelo, then Callum Smith is a big fight as Smith will need to move up if he wants his health. Kovalev is also a big fight but we’ll see how he fares against Canelo. I wouldn’t complain with a Pascal fight or Marcus Browne in the interim. Bivol is another intriguing fight.

All of these fights and the mix of styles are interesting mainly because of Beterbeivs strength and power. He can knock anyone of these people out. That makes for great watching.

I hope that some of these happen. We were just treated to a great unification - fingers crossed for the future.

Beterbiev has to fight a Chinese guy next. Amazing how people still question canelos balls. I'm not a fan either but he's about to be on about his 5th fight people said he would never take.

I doubt Canelo would go anywhere near Callum Smith, let alone King Arthur.

If he ain't scared of Kovalev or GGG why the f*ck would he be scared of Callum Smith?

Exactly, he forced fights with trout, Lara and now kovalev. No history to support nonsense. He took a minute for GGG but he fought him twice.

Beterbiev is with Top Rank.

Canelo is with DAZN.

Canelo has lots of lucrative options with DAZN.

There’s no compelling business reason for Canelo to engage in cross-promotional/cross-network bouts.

Because Callum Smith is younger, fresher and bigger than both of them.

Canelo IS definitely brave, but we all know why he's picked Krusher.
As the A side Canelo gets to pick his fixtures and he's very canny with it. He waited long enough for GGG that his judges could see him thru' w/o defeat. Jacobs was picked when struggling with weight, Fielding sold a belt etc. etc. Again, I@m not saying Canelo isn't great or brave, 'cos he's both, but Kov NOW - after that 8th round vs Yarde and looking at a testimonial fight - is not as dangerous a pick NOW as a young 'full-of-it' Smith @ SMW.

I don't think Canelo stays at LHW regardless of the outcome. Smith will be an opponent sooner or later, but not Beterbiev.

I think Smith would start favourite vs Canelo or Krusher.
Discuss.

To be fair, Smith hasn't faced a fighter as good as Canelo. I think Alvarez's matchup with Kov was well thought out and i wouldn't be surprised if he beats him. Smith to me is a 50/50 fight as he's not been truly tested yet, so it's based on his size advantage really. We hate Canelo so much we forget how freakin' good he is.

I think Canelo isn't really more than 5'8, I believe Smith's listed height of 6'3 though and he was noticably taller and bigger than Fielding. He's massive for SMW.

He waited for both Golovkin and Kovalev to get old and show vulnerabilities. Besides, the situation with him dropping WBC belt to avoid Golovkin made him lose quite a few fans.

Who knows what his plans are but I seriously hope he doesn’t opt to hang around at 175 regardless of the Kovalev outcome. It’s one thing to jump Weight for a single pay day against an aging opponent. But to try and stick around to conquer a weight class you’re not cut out for is tempting fate.
