Exciting fighters...

Post by Stuarty »

After watching that card on Friday with some of the most boring fighters ever on display, who do you miss that were exciting? ODLH was a classy boxer but he was proper exciting! Pac, who battered him, was also exciting! Froch was pretty exciting as well. Nowadays Josh Taylor is never in a bad fight! Showing my Scottishness off here but Scott Harrison was also pleasing on the eye... Anyone you loved to watch or anyone who went under the radar then put em in here... :TU:

He boxed masterfully against DLH.. He also jumped up two weights as well. Imagine him v Duran at LW? Two of the best LWs who ever lived!!!

I broke a sofa standing up and sitting down so hard one night watching him. The first Bassa fight, from memory.

Khan is nearly always ‘edge-of-your-seat’ exciting, mainly because he’s always a single punch away from disaster

I recently re-watched the Benn McClellan fight. Unbelievable action. How the hell did Benn keep going in that one?

I re watched the documentary ITV did as well as re watch the fight. I thought Benn won the second round which when you watch the first is incredible.

You see the stuff about McClellan being involved in animal cruelty and can see from some interviews that he was a bully. You then see one of the rounds ending and the bell chimes about 5 times and then Benn whacks McClellan after the bell and then he takes about two more swings for good measure. As much as to say ‘yeah I am hitting you late. And f Uck you you c u nt that’s why I’m doing it.’ Real classic case of the bully getting bullied right back.

Yeah fair point mate. Some of the stories about animal cruelty with McClellan are bloody horrendous man!

Even though he was involved in a couple of stinkers at Heavyweight (Valuev and Klitchsko) - Haye was good value for money IMO.

Jhonny Gonzalez. Always had a great following for a number of reasons. I laugh every time I remember how he got his name.

When he was in the ring you could always feel the tension that someone is about to go asleep.

I haven’t seen that fight and I don’t want to. If he did that, he was cheating and it’s out of order. You don’t punch after the bell, if you want to be a bully there’s plenty of time during the round. Think Molinares or Whyte losing it with Josh.

Never mind the rest, this should be a Dave McAuley thread. Anyone down 17 times in a relatively short career who got up 16 times to carry on and, in most cases, win deserves everyone’s praise. I love the first Blanco fight which he clearly won despite being on the floor four times. And free on the BBC too.

You’d have to watch the fight (believe you haven’t seen it) to understand mate, the tension, atmosphere and noise was ramped up unbelievable level, you could barely hear the bell, it was fought on pure emotion, one of my favourite of all time
