Who took the worse beating?
The wild one or Josh vs Ruiz?
Re: Who took the worse beating?
Wilder was cut, bleeding from the nose and mouth + 4 rounds of bleeding out the ear hole.
His ear, and all around that area on his head was badly swollen. We will have to hope he is OK and doesn't suffer a brain bleed or something.
Plus a few savage body shots.
So Wilder for me.

Joshua at least started the fight well. First he dropped his opponent, then he was destroyed for that. Wilder was being battered for all the time. Wilder had a tougher night.

Wilder. His ear drum busted, his mouth looked fucked. His jaw looked swollen possibly broken--he took a battering.

Re: Who took the worse beating?
Without doubt,Wilder got a complete beating throughout most of the fight and unlike Joshua had very little success. That kind of loss will have a big impact on Wilder for the rest of his career.
Re: Who took the worse beating?
Well one thing my missus said, and she is a complete casusal, was that Wilder took his licks, kept swinging, then complained they stopped it and clearly meant it. Compare that to Josh,.....
Re: Who took the worse beating?
Wilder by far. He was all sorts of fukked up. AJ quit.

Re: Who took the worse beating?
AJ was clipped and it scrambled his sense. Wilder was battered
Re: Who took the worse beating?
Thought Wilder won that 2nd round, landed couple of nice jabs - if he did indeed burst an eardrum at the end of that round then you have to commend his toughness for taking his licks for another 5 rounds. He took a shellacking from a man over 40lb heavier than him for a good while there.
Re: Who took the worse beating?
His coach said it was a cut in the ear, not eardrum.

On Sunday night, Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole reported the 34-year-old had only suffered a minor laceration in his ear.
He tweeted: “Just got some information, Wilder did not have a broken jaw as some have speculated, nor did he have a broken eardrum.
“He had a 2 centimeter cut in his ear that took seven stitches to close.”

That's what his trainer said in the post fight conference. That he had a cut that needed a couple of stitches.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑24 Feb 2020, 07:30 On Sunday night, Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole reported the 34-year-old had only suffered a minor laceration in his ear.

The burst eardrum has never been confirmed, it's probably just an excuse being made by fans to justify the defeat and explain away how easy it was for Fury to break him down

Re: Who took the worse beating?
Aye I’d agree with that. From what I seen, Fury with his first jabs really jumped forward behind them and wilder was shocked. His balance has never been great he just had his head banged about by a big guy using his weight. The headlocks looked quite effective too. They can fornicate your neck up and affect balance.ewenhay wrote: ↑24 Feb 2020, 14:27That's what his trainer said in the post fight conference. Wilder took the worse beating.
He got battered. AJ has basic fundamentals to protect himself which Wilder lacks.

Joshua was pretty chinless, hurt and pretty much went down from any clean shots. Wilder was absorbing more shots and staying upright.

Re: Who took the worse beating?
The one Wilder took was a worse beating than the one Don Curry took off Lloyd Honeygan - it was pretty bad.
Wilder has the guts of a pitbull - he deserves a lot more credit than he has been getting.

Re: Who took the worse beating?
Wilders beating was worse but AJ getting punched about by Kim Jong Un was more hilarious

Re: Who took the worse beating?
Thats very harsh on Joshua. He has a huge heart and has proven it everytime he's needed to. He has stamina issues and can gas severely if he over excerpts his limits, thats his big problem, but there is no question over Joshua's heart.
Also, in defeat he showed grace.
Not quite sure what your getting at.
Re: Who took the worse beating?
There are many similarities, as I mentioned in another thread.
Joshua managed to fight back and landed a few big shots after he was hurt. Wilder tried but was unable to get anything to land clean.
That probably says more about the standard of there respective opponents though.
