Powell was a substitute for Joe Bonomo, and Bonomo was a substitute for Harry Kid Beach. The Beach-Guest bout was originally scheduled to be part of the southern New Jersey boxing tournament. However, the Powell-Guest bout was not included in the tournament.
According to the account of the card in the "Evening Courier", Reno "was thought to be Gus Herman". Advertising for the card prior to the show had Camden's Gus Herman facing Billy Davis.
