Wilders best opponent before fighting Fury was a 37 year old Luis Ortiz..

Fury and Wilder no where near great fighters like

Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield...to name a few..

Fury best win was over an ancient 38 or year old Klitschko..

I don't think anybody was calling either of them the best that ever lived or anything right now anyway. Don't see why you felt the need to make this thread.

Everybody else that Wilder fought got knocked out by him so Fury's win is pretty impressive however you wanna slice it.

Let's not start playing down his victory straight away.

The bottom line is that Fury beat a man who many people agree is one of the hardest punchers of all time.

Also, he did so in a fashion few people thought he was capable of.

Out boxing the puncher is one thing, but to punch with the puncher and come out on top? That is worthy of praise, regardless of how highly (or lowly) you rate Wilder's boxing ability or record.

I admit being more of a Wilder fan than Fury, mainly because Fury is a pathetic piece of shit based on what he says publicly. That said, Fury's win should not be downplayed/denigrated by Wilder's competition. He did great, won without question, and deserves full credit.

Ortiz had too safe and easy career to be finished even by this age, so he wasn't. He still can beat a lot of competitors.

Wilder has gone from 'hardest one-punch hitter in heavyweight history' to 'one dimensional, overrated bum' in 12 hours.

Tuth is, he's neither of thos things, but that shouldn't detract from Fury's win.

Spot on.

Same thing happened with Ortiz: He was the HW bogeyman and potential uncrowned HW champion, as soon as Wilder downs him, he's a fat 52 year old with high blood pressure.

The Ortiz downgrading happened during his Allen and Scott fights, you can check the RBR threads and the threads from after those fights if you don't believe me. He lost his boogyman status before the Wilder fight was made. You can't be the division's boogyman and yet look like he did vs Malik 'gone with the wind' Scott

GREAT win for FURY---FURY is 9-5 to beat AJ & 2-1 to beat USYK on oddschecker today. the marketplace is saying FURY is the best HWT in the world right now. let's give credit where credit is due !

Bull! Wilder is the same fighter he was before this fight. Fury was a very different fighter. He brought brute force strength and melded it together with his herky jerky slippery quick skill set. All kudos to Tyson Fury here.
