AJ vs Fury

Gonna get this in before somebody else does... If the fight were to happen next, coming off their career best wins, who are you picking? :yay:

Fury KO. AJs win in the rematch, after he got battered and quit, was a tentative performance boxing scared. Fury, who won the first Wilder fight but got robbed, absolutely obliterated his man in the rematch. The bigger the fight the better Fury will perform and everything points to a Fury win and probably by ko.

The belts AJ has are Fury's as well. He never lost em in the ring. Fury is the man. Lot of political hurdles to negotiate first of all before this fight can happen. AJ has to deal with Pulev. Dillian Whyte will be pushing for his shot first and will more than likely need to be compensated for stepping aside. There will be the inevitable arguments over money, tv rights, location, who comes to the ring first and second blah blah!!! Hopefully the relevant people can sit down and work together to give the fans what they want and hopefully it's here in the UK. Having this fight in Saudi would be all wrong and a slap in the face to the British fight fans...

Fury, I think though it would need to be the "old" Fury - Nullify him, lean on him, make him knackered - AJ has a stamina issue if you ask me, running around for 36 against a guy as slow as Ruiz proves nothing.

AJ has the power to hurt anyone, and I'd give him more of a chance than Wilder at any stage (as he has better technique) but I think Fury would have to lose attention or go careless to lose.

Fury also has a rematch clause with Wilder to deal with should Wilder choose to invoke that immediately. Personally i don't want to see that. As far as i'm concerned he's beaten him twice now and the manner of the beating he took in the rematch just gives the whole thing closure....

I think this is an easier fight for Fury than Wilder.

Really don't rate either of them but it's a pick 'em fight. I tend to think it would probably be a bit of a stinker actually with AJ catching him at some point.

If you don't rate those two at heavyweight then who do you rate?

I don't think fighting over here would be realistic I don't think they'd be enough money for both without American TV money , I suppose it could happen at Wembley at 3am or at normal time 9/10 pm but with a much higher ppv cost

In Ricky’s defence I don’t rate any of today’s HW as great. I think Fury is way above the rest but I see the rest being bang average.

I used to think AJ, now I think Fury, although only just. Mostly depends on how Fury approaches it - if he tries to fight like he did in the Wilder rematch, I think Joshua would be able to stand up to him and knock him out. But if he fought like he did against Wlad, he’d win a stinker on points (although it would be extremely interesting to see how the judges would score an AJ fight, I get the feeling he’d get the benefit of the doubt nearly always).

i actually like big Fury personality wise, i just think he boxes like how Shrek would. Btw bookies paid out that Allen KO bet after nearly 3 weeks. U felt bad profiting from 2 cheats though so i gave it back by betting on a big dosser from Alabama

Good luck with that. I get the feeling he has been prematurely crowned with very little evidence to back it up

If AJ isn't nervous I'd back him to break Fury up for a late stoppage. I'd expect Fury to be up on the cards or at least level, but I think Joshua only needs to land the heavier shots, not the volume. Remember the Safety Pin!

If AJ is nervous then Fury wins wide on points, or he gets stopped through exhaustion from Fury's clinches. I predict somewhere in-between on the nerves front, so I've no idea who wins. I think it's a close fight and needs to happen this year. The late rounds are dangerous for AJ unless he's unusually fresh.

Fury intimidated Chisora, Wlad and Wilder, but will he scare AJ? He wins if he does, otherwise I think he'll lose and trigger a lot of revisionism.

Same. I do enjoy watching Fury / Joshua / Wilder for varying reasons, but I don’t rate any of them particularly highly in the grand scheme of things.

Who knows with HW boxing ?! I’ll go with another upset, Joshua will love the no pressure underdog scenario - he’ll land big on an overconfident Fury and get a close win.

Loved to see Joshua (rightly) calling Wilder a warrior after the Fury beatdown, even after DW put the boot in unmercifully after Josh got hammered by Ruiz.

That’s real class. :salut:

People are still missing the point with Fury. He doesn’t even try to intimidate people, he’s not playing up for cameras, it’s just him. Maybe that freaks fighters out who just aren’t used to it. I actually think AJ would handle it better than most as he’s been linked with Fury for years and knows what to expect.
