“Immediately, when I took it off, I felt my legs and I was like, ‘Oh, sh-t! I done put myself in a situation,’ ” Wilder said. “But I’m a warrior, man. I’m a king and I fight off of my shield. That’s how I like to go, on my shield. And I just had to accept responsibility that’s what it was, and fight from there. You know, many people probably would’ve made excuses and quit, but nah, no matter what the results was, I wanted to go in there like a warrior, a true king, a man, and go in and fight off my shield.”
“I tested it the night before and it felt like it was OK,” Wilder said. “But we thought we was gonna be able to time it all from the dressing room to the ring walk. But we was in the dressing room a little bit longer than we timed it. And by the time we was going out to the ring walk, you can tell I was walking kinda funny, you know, walking out. But it was a tribute and I was like, ‘I’m gonna wear it and see what happens.’ “By the third round, my legs was fully gone,” Wilder said. “And then, that’s when he started hitting me in the back of the head, knocking my equilibrium off a little bit. My legs were so gone that even if he would’ve tapped me, I probably would’ve fell. Because you know that body shots and all that doesn’t faze me at all. Many people could tell that wasn’t me up in that ring immediately. But I did it to myself. I totally did it to myself and I wasn’t gonna back down. I was still gonna fight like a true warrior and do what I do. You know what I’m saying? Win, lose or draw.” “I had no legs,” Wilder said. “I’m surprised I went that long. I had no legs, and I knew I was in for a fight with these legs and the condition I was in. It was crazy. But, you know, again, it’s nobody’s fault but mine. I wore the costume that was that heavy, and I paid the price. I traded the tribute to men and women [for] my title, and you know, as a warrior, I was gonna fight. My job was to fight under any circumstances, as a king, and that’s what I did. And I don’t take nothing back.” from BS
So instead of thanking to that referee that he stopped the fight on time b/c Wilder was out of this world, he is yapping about how his bambi legs could not hold that halloween-cardboard costume. Silly excuses.
Gipsy King pretty much f*cked Wilder up big time and he took his 'o' and his manhood.
I tend to believe him. He was definitely walking off balance on the way out. Now whether or not we get a different outcome in a 3rd fight is a different story. I feel Tyson will take him again when they fight again. But as far as the costume goes, I believe him. He definitely looked different walking out and after he took off the costume.

Anyone, even young athletes can have low energy days. The outfit excuse sounds ludicrous though.
Fury beat him up. Plain and simple. But athletes have to get their mindset right and coming up with an excuse and believing it are vital to moving forward. To be honest, I can't imagine DW really believes this.
EDIT: What really makes me laugh is that Wilder is now saying the bloody ear had nothing to do with his loss. To me, that was his most viable excuse. Moron.

I think your EDIT was answered in your first paragraph. If Wilder had admitted his bloody ear (that right hand shot) had caused his loss, it would interfere with his ability to move forward. His outfit excuse saves the macho ego. Saying he beat me up, does not.

45 pounds spread across his body is nothing for someone his size and condition
Or shouldn't be an issue frankly. BTW, what's all this I'm hearing about Fury's gloves now?
You mean some disappointed conspiracy theorists spreading baseless clickbait gossip?
lol, one video I saw showed footage of the claimed glove issue (which had nothing illegal at all ), only thing is they didn't realise their footage was from the first fight

Yeah , the thing is that his creepy halloween costume has nothing to do with his poor boxing performance. Fury beat him up as he said.

Deontay Wilder prepared to face Tyson Fury by training with a 45lb vest on during his sprinting sessions.
But just weeks later the Bronze Bomber complained his ring walk costume - which weighs the exact same - weakened his legs before fighting the Gypsy King.
Wilder, 34, was battered and bossed during the seven round beating, twice being floored, before his assistant trainer Mark Breland threw in the towel.
The former WBC king insisted he would make no excuses as Fury broke his unbeaten record - before days later blaming his 3STONE ring walk costume for the loss.
But in a 2018 interview with Joe Rogan, Wilder explained how he trains with a 45lb vest to sharpen his fast twitch muscles, which helps enhance explosive power.
He said: “We wanted to activate the fast twitch muscles with rapid speed so if I do anything that consists of me moving my feet it’s sprinting.
“I wear a 45lb vest during all my exercises and everything that I do, to have that extra weight on me.”
Just before his rematch with Fury, BT Sports released footage of Wilder performing sprint drills with speed and agility coach Joey Scott in Tuscaloosa.
Brit heavyweight Dillian Whyte posted a clip of the interview on Instagram and wrote alongside it: “There you go @bronzebomber no surprise you lying coward #excuses #fraud #ChicKeNLeGs
Similarly before the first fight - which ended in a draw - the Bronze Bomber is seen with the same weighty vest on as he sprints and shadow boxes.
Despite his experience in training with the additional 45lb, the 34-year-old is adamant his ring walk costume affected his performance against Fury.
Wilder told Yahoo Sports: “I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.
“It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything. A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things.
“I tried my best to do so. I knew I didn’t have the legs because of my uniform.
“I was only able to put it on [for the first time] the night before but I didn’t think it was going to be that heavy. It weighed 40, 40-some pounds with the helmet and all the batteries.
“I wanted my tribute to be great for Black History Month. I wanted it to be good and I guess I put that before anything.”
I live on a mountain and I see guys with massive beerbellies climbing to the top with big touringbackpacks(tents, portable cooking devices etc inthem) And they chop wood for the fire and swim in the mountain lake afterwards. And they are definetily not top athletes. Wilders 50meter ring walk killed him with that stupid costume on than i doubt he can do a single sqaut.

Some of the staff at the various Disneyland resorts often have to wear costumes weighing in excess of 50lbs all day every single working day!
Firefighters wear gear that weigh in excess of 45lbs.
By his own admission (and I've even supplied video evidence), Deontay Wilder has conceded in multiple interviews that he wears a training vest during training camp that weighs more than 40lbs.
Even if it’s true it makes no difference one way or the other, you’re sole responsibility is to get in the ring on a given night as prepared as you can be, if you’re less than 100% ready for any reason either physically or mentally then that’s your problem and all the excuses in the world won’t change what will be written in the history books.

A busted ear drum is at least an injury you can try to avoid in a future fight.
just wish more people had spotted this a few years ago !
and stopped being so physocophantic
What a bunch of crap. No one, not even Wilder is saying he's a great boxer who wins rounds.
Yeah I don't really know how he's phony. He just is what he is. A big puncher, with limited ability. As for him being a Dosser...I don't know what that means.
It’s obviously a poor excuse from someone who took an embarrassing beating in front of the world.
Wilder has spent his career as a winner, it’s not surprising to see him floundering after taking such a hard loss. I will say that it appears Fury has taken his soul though. Wilders refusal to give Fury any credit and the sheer amount of bleating isn’t the look of someone prepared to make changes or to really dig in. Wilder will be on eggshells for the rematch and I’d imagine Fury will finish the job in an even more one sided fashion.

It means that when some people don't like someone they express it in idiotic ways.
