Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
So Margaret Thatcher started a thread over there, asking for peoples ratings.
I thought it might be fun to collate them together to produce a BoxRec Forum top 15.
However it is currently only based on the rankings of 19 posters, so please feel free to nip over there and add your own, and then I will have some time on Friday to make a final list.
From there we can maybe bring back a voting thread on who the Forum think should be considered top 15 heavy weights.
Cheers
After 19 poster's ratings as it stands:
BoxRec Forum HW top 15:
1. Tyson Fury
2. Anthony Joshua
3. Deontay Wilder
4. Dillian Whyte
5. Andy Ruiz Jr.

9. Luis Ortiz
10. Michael Hunter
11. Oleksandr Usyk
12. Dereck Chisora
13. Joe Joyce
14. Charles Martin
15. Robert Helenius
so please add your own and I will recalculate it on Friday.

Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
Agree with most of this except the rankings for Martin both Joyce and Dubois would run over him as would Ortiz and Chisora.

Hey, Old Bones Ian, I will include your top 15. Cheers
Dr. Duke, I include you from the other forum thread, cheers.
Just a quick note if you say something like "I like NAME's list, but...", it's difficult for me to know what your true intention is.
So if anyone wants their ratings included in the calculation please can you throw up your top 15, even if it is a cut and paste of another poster's list.

Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
So after including 5 more posters ratings, we ended up with:

2.
Anthony Joshua - 23(21) 1(1) 0

Deontay Wilder - 42(41) 1(1) 1
4.
Dillian Whyte - 27(18) 1(1) 0
5.
Andy Ruiz Jr - 33(22) 2(0) 0
6.
Alexander Povetkin - 35(24) 2(1) 1
7.
Joseph Parker - 27(21) 2(0) 0
8.

12.
Dereck Chisora - 32(23) 9(3) 0
13.
Joe Joyce - 10(9) 0 0
14.
Charles Martin - 28(25) 2(1) 1
15.
รscar Rivas - 26(18) 1(0) 0
I changed my method for averaging the votes, it was more time consuming, but seems to smooth out for instances of one fighter being voted particularly low or high by one or two posters. My method was the following:
To take a top 30 list from PBO ranking (don't worry no votes fell outside of the top30). I then included everyone's rankings. If people only gave a top 10, I defaulted the remainder to โ11โ. If people went as far as a top 25, I defaulted the remainder to โ26โ. Finally, I removed one vote for the highest score and one from the lowest for each fighter (to smooth out any outliers).
I apologise if your vote was an outlier, but it seemed the fairest way to do it. Truth be told I would prefer not to include Usyk until after the Chisora fight, but as I say, this is the outcome the board have voted for.
p.s. If anyone has comments or suggestions for my method please let me know (I'm not a statistician).
Right so now we have a top 15, maybe we can start voting after any fight that could potential effect the rankings over on Current Scene

Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
i UNDErstand having him 3, but a few in the minority still have him 2 which I don't agree with at all. Joshua has a far deeper resume, lost more competitively, and avenged his loss widely while Wilder still has that pounding hanging over him. You can say he lost to the best, but not even Fury usually beats down anyone half decent like that.

Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
So why do you have AJ 2 then Ewster , what's your top 10-15
Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
You're outraged that one or two in the minority have the audacity to rank Wilder above Joshua.
I have Joshua at 2, yes. Rankings should be based on recent achievements not opinion in my book. Joshua has enough in his recent record to rate above Wilder for me.
But I still would fancy Wilder yo knock him out fairly easily if they met. But until then....

Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
Not outraged at all, someone raised the point that they thought Wilder should behind Ruiz, I said I can see why people have Wilder ahead of Ruiz (as do I) but that I don't think Wilder should be ahead of Josh, which we agree on Josh 2 and Wilder 3. OMG THE OUTRAGE, OMG PEOPLE TALKING BOXING
Re: Your HW Rating : on current scene message board
Klitschko v Joshua was the fight that made me think Wilder and Fury would be too much for Joshua.
An old Klitschko who never looked fast or a mover at any point previously made Joshua look slow and limited for the most part.
That's when I realised Fury and Wilder were on a different level. Too fast for Joshua to deal with
