Danny Williams' shoulder
Danny Williams' shoulder
We were in his suite the day after the fight and I remember him complaining how sore his shoulder was. I didn't pay much notice to it, now it turns out there may be a problem again and he's now having another scan!

BubiScholz, what kind of post is that, this is supposed to be a boxing site.BubiScholz wrote:are you his boyfriend or what? who cares?
not somewhere that you can insult other people all the time. What purpose does that serve, i was wondering if you just do it, to get off on some sort of strange thrill.
i'm trying to think of what word to sum you up..... i know......TWAT
He was talking about Bubi not you007 wrote:Where have I slagged you off? Get a grip.Boxingmad wrote:OK, that's a boxing opinion. That's the point of this forum. Not to go slagging the likes of me off. I didn't do anything wrong.007 wrote:Williams is becoming king of the excuses. Shoulder against Klitschko, Shingles against Sam - come on!

hey mate, i was just joking!! take it easy!! sorry if i went to far.Boxingmad wrote:What's your fornicating problem? It was just an observation, seeing as this story broke yesterday and it sprang to mind what he said that Sunday morning. No probs. I see what you're saying though; there's always an excuse. However, this time I'm genuinely concerned. I had a text from him in Dubai where he is on holiday. He says that his holiday has been dampened by a)being still very upset about losing to Klitschko - a fight he fully expected to win and b)the fact that every time he stretches or picks up his small children he experiences pain in his shoulder. The results are expected tomorrow and I'm praying that this is just a bit of soreness taking its time to heal.007 wrote:Sorry you were quoting my post above the comment!
It would be a shame bcuz speaking as a fan and not a mate of his, he is our best chance of winning back a genuine version of the heavyweight crown (assuming Lennox doesn't make a comeback). I don't really think Harrison has what it takes (he doesn't have the stomach for a tough fight) Skelton maybe, but very very raw at the moment.
Danny shouldn't have been that heavy in the first place. Lighter on his feet, he could have easily avoided the swings and clubbing shots of Ironfist and got in close, released some deadly combos and made him suffer. As it was, he was a sitting target for him and thus got damaged on his eye making it impossible to do anything else.
As for a plan B - well at 19 stone any other back-up plan is rendered useless, especially with 1 eye.
However, Jimmy Mac has done a sterling job with Danny, and his thinking for the fight differs from mine. This is meant as no criticism of him whatsoever.
Let's hope that things go well for him.

I appreciate the apology. Sorry about my colourful language. It's frustrating for me, because I know that the guy can do so much better. The times I've watched him in the gym, I just can't believe what he can do, and I think you'd be impressed too. I just don't know why on earth he can't reproduce it in the ring. The Klitschko fight was another example of it.BubiScholz wrote:hey mate, i was just joking!! take it easy!! sorry if i went to far.Boxingmad wrote:What's your fornicating problem? I'm p****d because when I went over to watch the fight, I had to stay in a crumby youth hostel right on the other side of town, and get the bus up to the Mandalay Bay hotel every time. As nearly all of the fight fraternity were there, and Danny's family were next door in the Luxor, that's where I spent all my time. So you can probably imagine how I felt sitting there for eight rounds watching him get beat up like that without Danny offering any kind of sustained reply. It was just single left hooks all the time, without any head movement.
What heart though. Gutsiest fighter I've ever seen, or one of.
He's taking this loss badly. Still very upset. He feels he's let everyone down.
I understand you're a fan of his but in all honesty I dont think he's as good as you think or other people have made out. I really dont think he'd beat any of the belt holders bar perhaps Brewster and I doubt he'd beat many if any of a genuine heavyweight top ten.Boxingmad wrote:No probs. He was only 'world' rated on the back of his win over Tyson who has very 'little left. Talk that Tyson was 'the old Tyson' for 2 rounds against Williams is absolute rubbish. If the Tyson of old had caught Danny flush with the same uppercut he landed in the first round he'd have been knocked out cold.
He could definitely have done better against Klitschko with less weight and more speed but still dont think he would have won.
