Bobby Quarry

Post by nobleart1978 »

Did anyone see the youngest of the Quarry brothers fight ?

I've looked online. One of his opponents (Quarry's 2nd bout) was reported to be plucked from the audience at very short notice. I don't know if anyone can verify that.

There is film of him against Tommy Morrison, but what were the other opponents like...

I saw him fight Morrison on TV. His record speaks for itself but he got a fair amount press because of his family. ESPN said at the time that Morrison-B. Quarry had a lot of watches.

I saw the Morrison-Quarry fight when it aired and thought that Quarry was just dreadful. I recently saw him in a highlight video kayoing someone, a journeyman, with a counter shot that looked damn good. But from what I saw, he didn't have nearly the skill of his more famous brothers.

That was against David Kilgour. It was one hell of a knockout, highlight reel stuff.

Yeah I remember that, brutal ko.

Bobby Quarry was never in the same class as his brothers but seems to have enjoyed better health. Obviously due to having a lot less fights, and presumably not many brutal sparring sessions with his brothers .
